So, I have been maintaining a grow journal under this same username on another forum (let's just say its acronym starts with an R and ends with a U and I don't remember what comes in between), but that forum keeps having server-related problems, so I'm going to transition it over here where things seem more stable.

I started out the grow intending to do a ScrOG setup in perpetuity, pruning the crap out of each plant for 100 days while I waited for the prior plant to flower, then taking a clone and releasing the bushy little "mother" under the screen while I start pruning the crap out of her clone. I ordered a pack of seeds from Attitude, and it came with a freebie Dinafem Super Silver seed. Well, that sounded way better than the "safari mix" I had ordered, so I decided to start with the freebie. Lucky for me, she popped! Here's a photo of my seedling, on day 3 from germination:

On day 4 or so I transplanted her from backyard soil into a potting soil/perlite mixture, and within days she was growing like mad. Here's one week after that first photo:

I wanted to maximize branching and take a lower-branch clone

as soon as possible, so I FIM'd her at the 3rd node. Here's a

shot I took a couple days later, showing the successful

results of the FIM:

At that point I had the plant under two 42w CFLs, one 2700k and the other 6500k:

At some point I added 2 more bulbs, each 26w 5000k. The plant was growing like a monster! Here it was just 5 days later:

http://boards.cannabis.com/members/ourkansaw-albums-dinafem-super-silver-scrog-then-sog-picture284801-day-20-germination.jpg

Before long, the four uppermost branches were essentially completely blocking the light for the lowest two branches, so I decided to clip both of the lowest branches to be clones, and then within a day or two I switched the primary chamber to a 12/12 regime (from 20/4).

That concludes Part 1 of my journal recap... Part 2 will bring you up to date, which is Day 30 of flowering, Day 55 from germination.

Let's begin Part 2 with a couple quick recap photos. First, the plant on Day 22 from germination, the day on which I transplanted her into the final grow container, a converted recycling bin with a metal screen attached to the top:

Three days later (Day 25 from germination), with the tips of the leaves starting to brush the screen, I decided it was Go Time, and switched to 12/12. Here's a shot from then, Day 1 of 12/12:

10 days later she was starting to fill in the screen pretty nicely:

The next couple weeks were just a matter of flowering beginning and lots of stretching and screen-filling. Here's a shot two weeks later, Day 24 of 12/12:

That was one week ago, and here are some photos from tonight, Day 31 of 12/12, showing the canopy:

My next post will be in about a week (unless I have replies warranting a response!), and will likely feature heavily the soon-to-be-taken SOG clone and closeup shots of the buds that are forming on the ScrOG.

Thanks for stopping by, and comments, questions, or other feedback are welcome and encouraged!

I'll be the first to say this is a great start, I'll be in for the whole ride haha

Great training and ScrOGing.

Thanks! You've inspired me to post a quick update, using pictures from last night (too tired tonight).

First up, I realized I didn't include any pictures of the Mother plant before. I still haven't taken any clones from her, but definitely will soon. I've decided to let her grow almost all the way to the bulb, so I can take a nice tall clone (with a longer underground stem for root formation). Here's a pic of her from last night:

Other than that, the ScrOG is bulking up a bit and starting to grow too tall above the screen for my CFLs (sadly), but still looks pretty good. These are from last night, Day 36 of 12/12:

And finally, Snap (the clone taken from a branch I accidentally broke on the ScrOG a couple weeks ago) hasn't grown at all, but still looks to be alive and healthy:

Awesome updates and pictures. The ScrOG looks great, keep it up!

How do you keep your mother small enough to be in that box? Best of luck to that clone.

The plan is to just take large cuttings every time she starts getting cramped, thereby aggressively pruning her down to size. Eventually that won't work so well, and then I'll take a new clone to be the mother and move the old one to the flowering box. I do bonsai as a hobby, so basically I'm going to use bonsai pruning techniques.

I'm not sure why! I can't see them except when I'm logged in, but I can see them fine then. Are you having this problem for all posts, or just my journal?

Sweet, can't wait to see it. Pictures are working for me.

If you don't mind, could you put up for pictures showing your setup? It looks pretty good, and I've been planning and taking ideas in for a future grow.

Do you run a carbon filter?
