Sorry if I'm doing anything wrong; I'm new to this site and forums in general!

Here's the problem though:
I was sent 5gs of mids that was wrapped up in cellophane, and the person who sent it decided it would be a 'smart' idea to fill the vacuum bag with ISO alcohol, then put the cellophane wrapped bud inside that vacuum bag. Basically, the ISO alcohol soaked through all that cellophane and so now the bud has been sitting in this ISO alcohol for about a week now as it shipped to me. I can't smoke it now, obviously, but my question is whether or not I can still use this bud...somehow.

Even though it's been wet with ISO alcohol for a little under a week, can I still do an ISO alcohol extraction? Or does the time it's been saturated in the ISO alchol affect the process?
Can I still put it into another alcohol such as vodka, and make a tincture (Green Dragon, basically)? If I can, can I still decarboxylate the bud or does the ISO alcohol soaked in the bud do something to make this process not possible anymore or not worth it?

Is there anything I can do?
Thanks.

I would put the solution on a cooking sheet and put it in the oven at 200F, just above IPA boiling point till there's nothing left, then rinse with ethanol.
EDIT: Thats just so that it doesn't kill you, not to make a tincture.

To my understanding, putting the bud in the oven as you instructed will evaporate (most?) of the ISO alc. out of the weed, yes? (To clarify, the weed right now is not exactly a 'solution' per se, it's absorbed lots of the ISO alcohol from the bag it was in so it's just IPA-dampened-weed lol) Then I rinse it with ethanol? Can you please elaborate on rinsing it with ethanol? What will that do; can I make a tincture after I do this rinsing or..?
I'm a novice at all that, sorry haha ;)

Oh, I thought it was like a bag full of alcohol with weed in it, like someone tried to make a tincture and used the wrong stuff. Well, if its just damp, and you just want to get the alcohol out, I'd lay the bud out on a cooking sheet and put in the oven at 200F just like before, but I don't know how long it'll take to get all the alcohol out. You could grind it up to speed up the process. I wouldn't try to make a tincture until you dry it out, and once you do, use a lot more ethanol than you normally would.
EDIT: And by rinse, i meant if you were to do the tincture, to rinse the thc residue off the cooking sheet with vodka.

Throw it out, it's only 5 grams.

agreed I make RS Oil at least once a month --- its easier to get more weed than to put yourself thru this!!!!

All the acohol will evaporate out if just left at room temperature for a couple days. Then you should find a green or brown substance left on the cellophane, thats hash. Just smear a little on your bowl of weed and get ready to feel real relaxed.
