hey guys.. am a newbie on this site. hope i'm posting in the right forum. I've been reifing since age 19, i'm 37 now. i smoked an average of 2 joints per day, various qualities. 2 years back, while quitting cigarettes, i decided to try a non-smoking method. i fried mary in a little butter, added 2 tots of rum, boiled lightly, cooled, then downed the substance. The high would take 2 hours to kick in, but when it did, it kicked in damned strong. one night, after consuming 2 tots, something extraordinarily weird n freaky occurred.

I perceived everything i touched to turn to weightless, magnetic fields of energy. To cut a long story short, i couldn't touch anything for longer than a few seconds. Metal, plastic, even a matchbox i couldn't hold. It would literally feel like the object was melting in my hand, or like the object had billions of invisible ants crawling all over.

I reckoned the dosage was too high, because these symptoms repeated themselves over and over.. so i lessened, & went back to smoking. The problem is, even though the strain is not strong, a quarter of a small joint still brings on this terrifying 'feeling'.

i need help. I love my mary, i've always promoted cannabis as the greatest substance ever, increasing creativity, longetivity and more, and joked about it only killing one person in history. It's never so much as even given me a headache. Now my feelings have changed. even a tiny amount will be extremely dangerous for me, to the point that i become suicidal. I cannot hold, or push objects. i cannot lie down, or sit. I can only stand, and do nothing until the 'high' is out of my system.

Has anyone heard of such symptoms? A friend of mine suggested i had THC poisoning, but i've read that is not possible. I stopped for 6months, the feelings went away, but came back again after 3 months of afresh smoking :( :*:(

Please is there something that can be done

Definitely not poisoned. If you still have any of that butter around, have it tested. I'd like some of it, Please?

Generally, if you have mental problems--Pre-existing (whether realized or not), pot will enhance them.
If you are suicidal,
1) call a friend
2) call 911 or
3) go to an ER or your doctor/therapist

Now, your mind is putting up a roadblock. Whether you have a problem or not, I would think you'd be in bed or a Lazy-boy if it were the pot. But, there are many other stories in here, you can read and most likely will find one similar to your experience. I've read many that will and might drop in here and let you know it is in your head and you are talking yourself into it with your fear.

I've been so high it was freaky and once you do a brain check and tell yourself and talk yourself out of it. That is what many here do:cool:. Others meditate, some exercise and a host of things. No one can tell you on line, exactly what is going on. MMJ acts differently with many. I've sat in a group and passed one around and watched to see who it affected and how. Results vary.

I'd suggest you become more strain specific. And toke it like medication, instead of a ciggs. And if you are unable to control it with strain or dosage, you may want to see a Therapist.

More importantly, why are you medicating? pr

It sounds more like something was in the weed that shouldn't have been there. After 40 years of smoking and eating edibles I've never had anything remotely resembling hallucinogenic effects.

It is possible, just not "poisoned'

However, with your age, it can be many things. And you need to get yourself checked for the 'suicidal' thinking. I suspect the pot is "magnifying" things for you (you must be a creative person)

If you want to experiment with strains, you need to grow and be selective of quality and dose. That is possible. However, I strongly suggest you get an evaluation for peace of mind, if nothing else. It may help you make your decision. If you need to quit. MMJ is great for many conditions and if you happen to have one, you can get better at selecting your medication to grow.

Get yourself checked out mentally. The word suicide is not something anyone would like to see anyone go through with!

Someday, I expect we'll put our finger in a hole, get a IBM card (oops, those went out at Y2K or was it sooner). It Reads your system and requirements and spill out an Organic remedy! Can you tell, I liked the Jetson's? Well, it'd be nice to avoid a doc and have one in a vending machine!

Good luck to you and please do drop back in and let us know what you decided to do? Plus, in time, perhaps some with similar experience's will be glad to share it with you. There are plenty in the old threads and some will have you roflyfao. It is frightening when it happens and some good writers of their story here and very interesting. Please go look around here? And check out Granny Storm Crow's list, you may begin to get an idea! :rasta:

If you don't like the high, then quit smoking it. And poisoning? No. You had a bad experience once and now you are afraid it will happen again everytime you smoke. You might not think it, but it's there in the back of your mind. Take a break or quit.

Are you taking any prescription drugs. If so, that might have something to do with it.

Sounds like the intensity of the high left you somewhat psychologically traumatized. Did you previously have any psych conditions?

I had a really intense high off some brownies once, and it just put me to sleep.

I have talked to some caregivers that make edibles and one lady got pretty nauseated but nothing that hung on permanently. I have been hearing more about THC poisoning and I agree with a previous post that maybe something was wrong with your pot. Maybe mold or a pest infected it. I had also heard about medical marijuana having negative affects on people who are on anti-psychotic meds. Marijuana will enhance any predetermined illness, known about or not. I hope you find the answer to your problem cuz that really sucks :(

I have had some bad experiences with hash and just plain smoking too much premium stuff. One time, a friend of mine and I got pulled over by the cops, and we had to swallow enough hash to get high for a month. I was messed up for 3 days, I couldn't go to work, I couldn't even go to the store to get beer, it was impossible to do all the preparations necessary for that 1/4 mile drive, at one point my left leg became weightless and just stayed up in the air while I laughed for 30 minutes straight so hard that I was crying and I couldn't breathe. I also had weird daydream hallucinations like my girlfriend walking towards me sticking her foot long tongue out at me while twisted goat horns sprang out of the side of her head. Of course, when I pulled over, the cops just went past us on their way to some emergency or something. They weren't pulling me over.

I have had some similar experiences with really strong weed. I think a lot of the time it is people growing a really strong strain but maybe they are spraying insecticides on it right up to or even after harvest. Nothing would surprise me.

I know my dog felt that way one time after eating all of the left over crap i threw in the garden after making washer machine hash. I still have a pic from 1974 when i was on leave from the Navy and was eating hash passed out, big shit eating grin.

this is an old-ass thread (sweet ass-car!) but i hear things like this ALL THE TIME and have even experienced bouts of bad smoking anxiety myself.

all in your head bro. pre existing mental illness.

source: daily smoker for 9 years suddenly experience bad smoking anxiety that landed me in the hospital with chest pains in 2010. long story short: addressed my anxiety and stress issues, and now 99% of the time smoking is as enjoyable as ever :) when i am in a bad state mentally, i sometimes have a tougher time being high. you can't 'run' from your demons when you're high - your brain won't let you. thats why people focus so intently when they're ultra baked, and why people enjoy using cannabis as a tool for creative enhancement. i'm thinking you're merely experiencing heightened sensory awareness and your anxiety is twisting it into something profoundly negative.

ANXIETY is a real, physical ailment, not just something you have to deal with. you CAN feel normal again when you smoke (and in general). don't suffer, see a therapist. insurance covers it.
