Hello everyone. First off my story- I am a recent college graduate who has a new career opportunity making a nice salary. Only problem? Yep, you know. :(

Anywho. Quit smoking on May 4 so that would make it almost 20 days now. My test will be either on day 26 or 27 of quitting smoking. I am 5'5", 130-135 lbs, and have been smoking daily for 3 years. First week of quitting was quite painful, I lost 8 lbs because I could not eat anything and was vomiting constantly. Haven't been doing much to cleanse because from research it seems like nothing really works.

I've decided to follow the instructions on the dilution method sticky. My question is, do I need to do the full dilution or half dilution since I will be clean approx. 26 days? I've also read people failing from dilution method. How common is this? I've been employed by this employer for nearly a year, this is basically a huge promotion. I do have a good excuse for if they question the dilution, I am undergoing lipolaser procedures (this is true) that require me to drink 70 oz. of water a day. Do most employers accept these excuses and allow a re-take? How common is it for the employer to automatically fail you from dilution?

I do not have much of an interest in using the substitution method. Makes me too paranoid and if I failed from that I would feel like a huge idiot. ANY advice is welcome - this is a big career for me with big $$! Quite sad that I have to be worried about this when I do not even touch alcohol or any other drugs. Guess that's the great society we live in.

Thank you,
Lady Toker :smokin:

Also forgot to add that I have already delayed the test as long as I could. So Day 26 or 27 it will definitely happen.

You should first test yourself so you know exactly where you stand. Without testing yourself, all you have to draw from at this point is assumption that youre clean (and you know what they say about "assumptions").
When testing yourself, be sure to use the first urination of the day.

Its not all uncommon for daily users to still fail after dilution. Dilution techniques are far from being a 100% sure thing. They can backfire if the THCA concentration in the bladder is too high. For most longtime daily users, it would be virtually impossible to dilute that concentration enough without overdiluting and sending up the red flags at the lab.

Youre asking the impossible because each employer is different. If I were an employer, I personally would not accept this as an excuse because drinking fluids in the days leading up to the test is of no help. The dilution phenomena is only temporary - once the fluids ingested had all been urinated out, the bladder is replenished with fresh THCA-laden urine and thus, the donor would resume testing positive for THC.

Thank you, Burnt Toast. I took a test first thing this morning and failed miserably. I also realized way too much urine was in the sample (above the "max" line of the test strip, I'm not sure if this would've affected the result?). I think at this point I'm going to re-test tomorrow and see where that takes me.

My test is Thursday afternoon. If I fail tomorrow would you recommend going the substitution route as opposed to dilution?

Thanks again for your help.

If I fail tomorrow would you recommend going the substitution route as opposed to dilution? How important is it for you to land this "big career with the big $$$" ?
If this career means too much for you to roll the dice with dilution techniques, then subbing would be a wise bet.

Haha, alright. Didn't mean to sound like any sort of "bragging", but when you're fresh out of college with a nice career offer - of course it's important. :)

With substitution, I'm reading it's important to check what prescriptions people might be on. If a girl is on a different kind of birth control than I am, would this make a difference?

Birth control is not tested for on a U/A.
