Guys/Gals:

Birds Attacking my garden.... Just strung up a long line with pieces of string dangling, will this suffice?

Are you sure you aren't high off your ass and somehow believe that you are in an Alfred Hitchcock film ?

If you look on the top of pics 1- 3 you can vaguely see the rope that I strung up with small pieces of wire dangling. My girl tells me that this works very well in distracting birds. Ornithology...... YUK

LoL that's funny as hell the birds wanna get high. Get a plastic owl and hang it up. You can probably get it at a home depot or similar store. It's like a scare crow ,the birds are scared of owls.

Odd, most birds ignore cannabis that has no seeds.
I'm guessing that those strings will prove to be ineffective.
Think about it.
They are not much different from twigs and vines, yah?

Get a "turkey tray", (large, thin, shiny aluminum, roasting pan), and cut it into 2" squares, or circles.
(Make snowflakes if ya wanna.)
Hang them from thin strings like dental floss.
The slightest breeze will set them spinning and tinkling.
The specular reflections and the tinkling annoys the birds.
It is said to disorient the moths that lay budworm eggs as well.

Or.
If you have the cash, buy a 5' X 10' dog kennel and a large roll of windowscreen.

Hawaiian birds are well behaved and when I found that dryer sheets repel almost all flying insect pests, I did not have to install the screening.
The large mesh is quite effective against 2 legged pests. :)

thanks:

& yea, Birds.... See 'em all the time, I'm not waked, lmao. Down here they are BIG!!! They've eaten some tops as well as some ancillary colas. The string trick appears to be working cuz I do not see any more damage.

Dangling strings appear to have solved my bird problem. Thanks for the much needed input.

Looks like it didn't, I was suggesting tying shiny or sparkly Christmas ribbon to dangle from the strings...works well on fruit trees also. Or even pieces of aluminum foil crunched around the string in spots.

Thanks, problem alleviated! 21 started, 19 remain. One just couldn't deal with the transplant stress & the other was a male. Starbucks coffee gave me like 50lbs of used coffee grinds & the girls love it! Actually all of my vegetable crops are digg'n the blend. The girl to the left is gonna be a frigg'n monster, She's short & fat. Her sister to the right isn't too shabby either. 2 months remaining so I can't even imagine.
