Will This First Grow Setup Work?

Hey guys long time poster/smoker first time grower. At the moment i am thinking about growing a few small plants with a room mate in the future. Nothing big not planning on selling and not really planning on smoking alot, just wanting to grow enough to smoke on the weekends and really just get to know the cannabis plant rather then just the bud.

As space and security are going to be an issue (marijuana still not being legal in the uk) i need a small, cheap and secret solution to growing a few plants. After abit of research i have come up with the following plan.

Either use :PC Grow Room Pro mk2 CL

or the upgraded version : PC Grow Room Pro mk2 Full Kit

to grow 4 : Lowryder #2 Autoflowering Regular Seeds - 10 Lowryder

at a time

However there is a limit to the info that i can get on the internet and I personally only knew one grower who is sadly no longer with us. Now what im going to do now is spew out a bunch of questions in the hope of getting some answers. Ive read abit about growing ( read the grow bible ) and feel like i could have a good go at it. So please try and help me out with these questions :D

First of, will i be able to grow the plant in the small pc case? i know that lowryders stay rather small.

Will i be able to fit 4 plants inside that at a time? if not how many?

Is it worthy buying the upgraded version at £100 more? why?

In those conditions how many grams would each plant yield? ive been led to believe 18g's a plant dry weight.

Will i be able to clone a lowryder plant?

Will the light that comes with the kit be the right one to grow cannabis? if not what should i get?

Many thanks in advance for any answers that i get. :D

Also if the answer is no you cant grow with that kit what should i buy that i can easily hide and still produce good cheap crops?

I know Im asking alot, but i really want to know all i can before i spend any money or embark on a grow :)

After looking at the questions that you have asked I think you need to keep reading grow books and do some research online because those questions are basic, GET SOME MORE READING DONE DUDE ! If you don't know what light to use you are clearly not ready to grow.

I respect the fact that the lights question was very basic, i just wanted to make sure but based on what ive read it shouldnt work and ill need to pick up a new bulb.

please disregard that :p sry to keep second guessing myself but according to a blog ive just read you need 5000 lumens per square foot. Im going to use 10000 for the same amount of space so the upgraded bulb they sell should be fine

I REALLY have been hitting the books and now see that ill be able to grow 2 to 3 plants with the upgraded bulb providing just over 15000 lumens more then enough for my grow space :) the lowryders ive found will be a NYC diesel/Lowryder #2 cross breed and will yeild rather well and keep nice and compact unlike lowryder original and lowryder #2 which do tend to bush out. For my first grow i will be using the hydroponics system provided and im really looking forward to a quick grow with some nice buds.

Anyone recommend a good ozone generator that isnt to expensive, looking to spend a max of £70 including P&P.

And when i do come round to growing it (I may start the grow as late as 6-8 months from now depending on the availability of flats :p) i will be keeping a thread pictures of my set up/grow/yeild and would love to hear from all of you, with tips, tricks and comments. And PurpFreshy ill be sure to keep in contact with you if youre interested in how my indoor pc grow goes :D

Hey Ganj, guess what? I happened to come across 2 pc cases... I may build a custom grow spot and start working on getting a small cannabis plant. I'll start working on it and keep pictures updated in my album. I start my summer job so I'll the cash to blow on it! Ventilation and space is covered, I need lighting and the plants next!! I wouldnt bother with a PC case. Why cramp your conditions...

Couldnt you find a storage box maybe 1m high x 60cm x 60cm. That sound more like a grow box to me.

Remember that the plants will need a fan inside to train them. You could even add a small carbon filter to it too in time.

In this space you could have 4 healthy dwarf low riders in 1sq foot each. You could make a bank of 1 foot florescent tubes. As many as you can fit.

I made one of them for my veg room. I looped a cable to each one. For veg you would need the 6300k daylight/bright white tubes. For bloom the 2700k warm white.

Wait a second and Ill take a photo of the light I made... Be sure you know how to do this though... It could be dangerous if you don't terminate the cables correctly.

Here are a few photos of my set up. Im adding these photos to let you know what a grow tent should include.

Here you see my LED light hanging from an adjustable chain and 4 x 20w CFL hanging over the sides of the LED light. The CFL are there for heating purposes as the LED light runs cool.
On the left is my 'training' fan. This is necessary to make the stems strong on the plants. It comes on for 15 minutes every 2 hours. The 4 inch flexible tubing is my fresh air intake.

This next photo is the top of the tent. on the right side is the centrifugal, speed controlled extractor fan. This is a proper extractor and it stays on 24/7 on the lowest speed. Attached to the extractor is the Can9000 carbon filter. I can have all the weed I want in this tent and you would not smell it at all even if you stood right beside the tent. this is important as I live in an apartment complex. Oh, and my tent is 120 x 90 x 90. It is in my bedroom right beside my wardrobe. You can also see all the timers used to control all the various appliances in the tent. Always remember to keep electrics above your waist and water below the waist. This minimises the risk of fire etc.

So anyway, as you can see, growing good weed takes more than a PC case. There are lots of other factors to take into account. I learned all of these the hard way. Eventually you come to realise that to do it right you need to gleam as much as you can from your peers and research. Before I started this grow I did an enormous amount of research and I saved money to get a proper grow tent with all the necessary equipment. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. This rings true for growing weed. Problems can arise if you make a mistake in a number of areas; lighting, heat and burning, bleaching plants, excessive stretching due to poor lighting, humidity, mould due to poor air circulation, soil mix, nutrient burn, pot size and pot binding, drainage and root rot... the list goes on.

I hope it all woks out well for you. My only advice for you is to learn as much as you can from other peoples grows. The link to my grow journal is in my signature.

Woah, thanks for all the great info! However i already began work on building my own PC grow box and dont really want to give up now. However i think i will try and produce the grow box you have suggested after a little bit of tinkering with the PC. Im not really sure what is it about it but i find it really entreating :p. Ill be sure to refer to this post again, when it goes to move on to a bigger grow :D

I was interested in trying the PC box. It would be a project. Something challenging. Im not interested in grow amount just to see If I could do it. Lol. So, no I really don't think I'll go with the storage bin just because I have all the PC stuff. Thanks though man! :)

Yh im not looking to get huge yields, i knew that when i began this. Just want enough to smoke for myself at the weekends and a small little project like a PC grow box sounds perfect :D

if you just plan on smoking on the weekends, i dont think you might wanna start growing..but its all personal choice, thats just a big charge for a weekend smoker compared to maybe a few grams

I totally get what you mean friend, but im making sure that i take all the steps to make sure this is as safe as it can be. And frankly with my dealers house being watched and with one of his grow houses being raided this may be a safer way to get bud :p

Also the uk are bringing in new sentencing laws regarding cannabis growers, and they will take into account amount being grow and medicinal usage.
