1500w hood placement questions

So I received as a gift a hood that is a little bigger than i am used to. I am going to use it in a bloom room that will be custom built around this light and 8-12 plants. I have a 7' ceiling and i hope this will be high enough. It will hang from the ceiling with a hood cooler directly attached and vented outdoors.

Guess my question is what size room is the min/max for this hood?
What color should the bulb be?
Should I breakdown and buy a 2000w bulb? Will it last longer?

I am going with HPS unless I find out otherwise because they have a better selection of colors.

I have had a really hard time finding info about these size bulbs being used in a non professional setting.

Sorry it is a 1000w(I was skeptical). I traded it in for two 600w hoods.

xx max xxx max vented ? parabolic...? 1000k watts cover 4x4 great if applied properly.
