Hollywood helped lose the election? Right. It was more like Republican fear-mongering, trying to say that Democrats wanted to push "Hollywood values" onto the rest of America.
I don't think there's such a thing as "Hollywood values." If there is, I don't know anyone who subscribes to them and I'm more liberal than anyone you know.
Again, it's all about distortion and distraction.

a couple of posts ago you told me how Hollywood funded Gore and how Malibu has so much money. now your saying the Dems should stay away from Hollywood?
I hope this is true simply for the honesty factor he would bring to the debate, funny or not he says what he means and feels. which is allot more than I can say about W.

I think a former president can have whoever the hell he wants with him. I also think that people read into things too much and that Republicans (and fairly, Democrats too) play on that for their own gain.

There's more than one point of view!

The movie "Team America" puts it best, in a scene with F.A.G. the Film Actors Guild, they have a scene with all the politically active celebs, and Jenene Gerofilo says,"it is our duty to read the newspaper, then say what we read on television like it was our opinion", to widespread agreement.
THATS WHAT THEY DO!!!
They hear the liberal media, and repeat it because they are stupid and ignorant. The fact that anyone even listens to what they say is laughable.

Yeah, and Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Joe Scarborough, who do the exact same thing, are somehow immune from that criticism?

Difference between the people you just listed, (altho i dont know who Joe Scarborough is) they actually have experiance in the political field, and form thier own opinions. Thier JOB is to comment on politics. Actors JOBS are to entertain us, not sprout crap about how how Bush started the war for oil. I havn't heard any real cognitive argument from any celebrity, yet all those conservatives you listed actually have opinions based on fact, present it in a concise way. Furthermore, they give facts to back up thier points. People turn on talk radio expecting to hear politics. They don't want to turn on Conan O'Brien to hear some brainless cleleb sprouting crap about Bush.

By the way, I don't like any conservative talk radio (except Niel Boortz), they are mostly full of crap.

They have just as much right to their opinions as you do (we dont have to listen to them you know.). Besides, many of the so called "professionals" in politics spout just as much bullshit as the actors do.
yet all those conservatives you listed actually have opinions based on fact
The only response ill give to that is a big hearty laugh.

Republicans can bitch about Bill Maher, but what about Arnold Shwarzenneger, however the fuck you spell that. In the republican convention they used him as the opening speaker, talk about using hollywood to your advantage! Bhallg2k is rite, there is more than just ONE side to a story, but republicans always seem to only see one side, their side!

Yes, I agree that politics all around the world is actually one giant pile of elephant feces. The whole business of politics revolves around lying, canniving, and being a general hooligan. Politicians are just as bad as lawyers in my humble opinion.

The only reason why Arnold became governor is because everybody knows him from movies! The only thing he can say that i understand is "Hasta la vista",lol. Mahr is actually intelligent and can speak the english language, unlike GW and Arnold. Although, I think Arnold is doing a pretty good job as a governor for being foreign, but that may be because of his democrat wife. Both Arnold and Mahr are multi-millionaires, and both made their money through hollywood, the only significant difference is Mahr is making his career through political tv, which is actually pretty funny! Amsterdam, you just contradicted yourself, if Mahr grew up here, he has a better understanding of how politics work here!

Republicans have elected an extremely bigoted man to the Senate before. His name was Strom Thurmond.
This was a man who ran for president in 1948 as a "Dixiecrat" on an entirely segregationist agenda. In 1957, as a Senator, he set the record for the filibuster, holding the floor by himself for over 24 hours, railing against the Civil Rights Act saying things like, "I want to tell you that there's not enough troops in the army to force the southern people to break down segregation and admit the Negro race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into our homes, and into our churches." The people of SC sent this man to Washington until he died at age 100 in 2003.
You might remember that at one of his memorial services, Trent Lott got his ass in a lot of trouble by saying, "I want to say this about my state. When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years either." That comment cost him his job as Senate Majority Leader. He's still in the Senate though.
