i have a question do i need a rooting hormone to clone or can i just put my cuttings i straight water like do my house plants
I would recommend a hormone myself (I am currently using Olivias) though I can't say for certain that it would not work without the hormone. Perhaps someone else can comment on that.

I use Clonex. Works great.
i would definitely use a hormone to create cuttings. The cuttings will take root quicker and they will all be in the same stage of root development.
This will ensure that the cuttings all veg relatively the same. There will be less chance of cuttings lagging behind.
Be sure you get a hormone.
Take care

You could try it like grandma did by placing the cutting in plain water and letting it sit for a week or two and see if it takes root. trying it on one cutting wouldn't hurt anything and it's only one plant if it fails. However rooting hormone has a much higher success rate. I was wondering about getting some willow bark and grinding it to a pulp them putting it in water and boiling it. Take the water and place into small mason jars and let cool. Place cutting into the water and place on a window sill and let her ride. Sort of home made rooting hormone. IF it worked you could use it in a pinch.

first i would like to say that if you use a rooting hormone you can get 100% success if cared for right
if you cant find any or afford any you can try to help aid the cutting by scratching the outer bark of the stem very gently
this does part of the rooting powder job which is to dissolve that outer layer then ether put in water or soil i would just use soil
and cover with humidity dome maybe plastic party cup a ziplock bag and rubber band or something to keep bag in position as humid dome
it will take longer but should work make sure to spray leaves and inside of bag daily to maintain 100% humidity then after a few days start leaving bag off and see if she falls over
if not leave off bag if she does keep on the bag hope this helps good luck
