I just thought I'd share this simple set up I've devised to hang my CFL's It's really cheap and easy to do. I just used a couple of lengths of coat hanger wire, cut to length and then using a couple of small pairs of needle nose pliers and some cable ties. Basically, I already had coat hanger wire hooks made up to hang the lights through the small cooling vents on the bulbs. I found that just suspended from this point, the bulbs tend to point downwards slightly and I wanted them parallel. Using the new lengths of wire, I bent a kind of sheperds crook shape in the end to hook onto the wire which the lights were hanging on. I then wrapped a cable tie around each of the bulb holders with another cable tie looped through each. I zipped them nice and tight around the bulb holders and the wire then when the wire is turned to point the hooks, it gets a little tighter still as it's twisting the cable ties. I can now slide the wire through the cable ties to get the bulbs into the position I want. Especially handy when you want to get your bulbs as safely close to the plants as possible depending on what your plants are doing if you're growing them normally. :)
