i was smokin a bowl and i was fucking gone after 2, after all i get good ass shit, anyways, i was wondering, sound, how does it stop? like, if your in a feild and scream real loud, why does something as petty as distance effect distance of travel for sound? its so weird ebcuase its such a strong force and it eventually disapears into oblivian....any thoughts or answers?

Because the sound waves that are made travel and become few and far between the further the sound travels, it is literally pulses in the atmosphere you're hearing go into youre ears and past you, the less sound waves in ur ear obviously less sound, hope u understand sort of

WOW... Just WOW... But really i have pondered that before. I would imagine that eventually it would diminish in loudness and given the day and area there might be other factors. Who knows. But from a stoners point of view. It goes forever woman/man. It goes until someone hears it. Until someone can aprreaciate the amazing action you have just performed. I like to think that nothing we do is a waste. I mean sure when we drive our cars, we burn gas. But it's not wasting. We are emmiting fumes and exhaust into the air and depleating our resources. It's never a waste though it's like a negative effect to an end. So if you where in a field. And you screamed something, someone hears it. Something appreciates it. Something understands why you screamed. It's really beautiful actually. That's my Deep Two Cents.

i know scientifically why i just wonder why over time the waves deminish and ebcome longer, what force causes that

The answer is infinity. Sound doesnt just circle the globe, it travels up and beyond thru space and time. And the farther away, the older the sounds. Somewhere far out in the vastness of space, dinosaur roars are still travelling. A body ( or sound) in motion continues in motion unless something stops it.
What fucks with me is that, if we see a star 2 lightyears away explode, we are looking back in time, because the light of that explosion took years and years to reach us. The big Ear in Puerto Rico hears space sounds alll the time and noises from other galaxies, etc...
I dont remember who quoted it, but it says we are all just a mechanism striking a chord upon an infinite instrument.
Our senses are nothing but delicate readers of electrical impulses that our minds percieve to interpret...its amazing.

Sound doesnt exist. Sound is what we call our brain's interpretation of vibrations, as sensed by our ears. As the distance for the source of this waves of vibration increases, their intensity decreases. Eventually they deminish to the point where we cannot sense them (think of exponential decay). Furthmore, since space is considered a vacuum, sound waves cannot exist as all, as there is no medium through which they can oscillate.

I wonder if there is a Glaxy in front of ours looking back in time at us? Or whether it is just a circle and we are looking back at our beginning? Freaky.

I haven't looked it up yet, but I'm pretty sure that the amplitude (distance from top of the wave to the bottom) just diminshes over given distances. It's just a force (vibration) that dissipates as it travels through space. Not sure as to what factors make it diminish, can't be friction can it?

thats false, saund waves, along with many other types of waves can exist, such as radio waves used by astronauts, but sound does exist simply becuase ofhow we interprit it, thats like saying sight dosent exist its just how we interpret light pulses with our eyes

Ay, guyz, like you can be walking down a busy street, real fucked up, and the sound of the cars doesnt stop, they just get biggar, and smaller, and when no cars come it feels like your ear fflys and follows the sound until more cars come, and your ears come back
