Hey guys,
It's been awhile since I posted here, but let's just say that my last grow ended up really well. Anyway, moving along...
I've been diagnosed with Crohn's and I have a very dear friend who suffers from a similar sort of IBD and Auto-Immune disorder, and we both have valid recommendations from our Primary Care Physicians and GI specialists. When times get tough, we take care of each other. For instance, New Years Eve, she was without, so I brought her something from my last grow. She said "What do you want for this?" to which I promptly responded "A hug!"
Anyway, long story short -- I'd like to start a real co-op, locally. I'm talking between two and five people. To participate, you either donate resources (lights, soil, nutes, etc.) or personal time to the endeavor, and get the medicine you need. Under NO circumstances will we be accepting cash for medicine.
I've run the numbers and, in the 'for profit' world, this is a disaster waiting to happen. Business model is completely unfeasible. But from the standpoint of protecting safe access to sick people, advocating for patients' rights, and taking care of the people you love, this is a no-brainer. I'm also planning to limit the amount of plants we grow to the allowable limit for ONE patient, instead of trying to grow for EVERY patient in the county.
Here are my questions:
1) Does this make any sense?
2) What do we have to do to get legally protected?
3) I'm running out of genetic material, and need to get some seeds or clones. The local shops are either shutting down due to city ordinances, or just aren't carrying seeds anymore. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks for reading!
