pH when to check?

Hello! I am growing hydroponically in a 5 gallon bucket with a rockwool cube. Also using Fox Farm Hydroponic nutes. I have a hannah ph/ec reader. My question is when do I check the ph? I change the solution once a week. Do I check it right after changing the solution? Do I wait a day? I'm barely getting my calibration stuff this week so I'll FINALLY get to start using my meter! I just wanna make sure I do it correct the first time.:thumbsup:

once you've add ya nutes to the res check the ph and if needed add ph up or down as required,then ilet it run for 30 mins and check again..
i check once a day until i kno where its going to be roughly but i still check daily ya pH will probably drift after a day or 2..start at 5.8 and don't go over 6.2..

Just check your ph after you mix your nutes, when you add ph up or down, do so in small amounts to avoid pH swing, and mix the solution thoroughly for 10-30 minutes depending on how large your res is.
be sure to check your nutes at least once per day, also be sure to check ppm levels as your nutrient strength will rise over time due to environmental factors.

OK thank you guys for the answers! Do you think it would be safe to use the home method? (ie baking soda or powder & vinegar) I've read you can use those vs ph up or ph down. Or should I stop being cheap and just buy some ph up and down? Also how can you rise or lower your ppm? If it is needed?

hiya don't be a cheap ass,lol none of them really work proper check ya water and if it as an high pH above 7'ish use that as ya pH up if it's lowbelow 7 you can use it as ph down..so ya only need 1 of them thats what i do.......if ya ppm is t high add water and it comes down if it's too low add nutes till ya get ya desired ppm..it go's up..gluck

go cheap and get cheap i allway say.. you can save alot of hassle if you just buy some ph and down.. you'll thanks yourself later.. if money is tight go borrow it.. good luck..
