Green soaked zigzags - what the heck are these?

I was given these along with my most recent purchase of cannabis as a sample. I thought he had said they were soaked in hash oil, but these smell nothing like cannabis. They have a strong chlorophyll smell with a hint of mint, and i tasted a bit of the oily residue in the bag and it has a very bitter taste.

I have never seen hash or hash oil in my life, is it supposed to smell/taste like this?

Proper hash oil is not bitter and good oil is not that green.

Yeah that helps. I rolled a couple of cigs out of them, and they did get me a mild weed buzz, so cannabis must have been involved at some point, but they definitely smelled nothing like it.
