View Full Version : Is it flowering?

Something weird happened to my auto blueberry after transplanting it from the party (dixie) cup into a ocean forest/perlite/light warrior mix. Is it flowering? It's so small though.... Will it grow more? It's about four weeks old from seed.
It's only 5 cm across and I'm pretty sure those look like mini-trichomes.
Lesson to learn from this is that autos need something light like light warrior to start but they don't like being root-bound or transplanted so a bigger container is necessary to start from. However the problem with that would be over/under watering as they are easily flooded due to being seedlings and easily under-watered due to their roots not reaching very far down.
How should it be fed if it spends its whole live in light warrior? How big should its container be?

It certainly looks like it's trying to flower; looks like it has seen some stress already as well. This is just my opinion based off of my experience, but auto-flower seed are a pain in the ass especially when planted in soil, so I just don't use them. I wish you the best of luck.

Yep, flowering for sure. ITS A GIRL ! Congratulations !
However, I'm very confused to why its just 5cm in diameter after 4 weeks of veg ! In my grow my plants were monsters after 4 weeks of veg, I even supercropped them and they are huge now after 6 weeks of bloom.
Something isn't right there in your grow room, I'm guessing you are growing under a very small light.
After 4 weeks some autos will bloom. It's a normal time to bloom for autos. you need to up the light source to get the plants ready (big) for their time clocks to kick in.
Have a look at my set up here under "indoor growing" - "testing the pro-grow 260 LED"
Or just follow this link LED Logger (http://ledlogger.wordpress.com/)
Every stage of my grow is documented and has pictures for every update, hope it helps in some way.

For 4 weeks she looks like a runt>>personally I don't run Autoflower strains as they are prone to runts ,dwarfs, low vigor ,etc.......
She looks like she has been really stressed>>that could be the cause of her flowering early
that plant won't yield much if she goes into flower now.
I'd repot it and put it under constant veg light and try and get her bigger before flower!

I don't think it's a light issue because my Aeroponic heirloom tomatoes next to it blew up like crazy. From everything I have read, it's a container problem with the autos. They don't like their tap root to be restricted like I did to it in the 16 oz party cup. The problem is that it never grew to the size of the party cup so I didn't transplant it. But then they don't like the stress of the transplant due to their short life span so starting them in small containers is also not good. Also, since light warrior has no nutes (150 PPM runoff with RO water), I think it was also stressed due to the lack of nutrients for four weeks. Fox Farms recommends feeding plants at 5 days in light warrior.
I'm going to try to feed it only blue light for a couple of days now that it is in the ocean forest blend and see if I can get more growth from it back in veg. Is that a good idea or should I just let it flower with the predominantly red spectrum? I doubt it will go back in veg though since they auto-flower at one month as silent leprechaun mentioned so I don't think there's anything that can be done.
It's probably going to be a one-hitter plant :)

Avoid autoflower strains if possible. ruderalis crosses add many more headaches than any grower deserves.
It looks to be flowering. consider it a bonus. Now you can scrap this plant and focus your efforts on better genetics.

I had a bag seed do the same thing... its not the pot. Reference my pics in my grow log you will see it. I thought I might have burned it somhow with my Ph down. But IDK for shure.

I thought it was over-watered also when it started going droopy. But then I let it dry for too long and it never recovered, plus it was too dry for too long. Ever since the transplant to a 3 gallon container, the droopiness is gone and the leafs are looking good. Like I said, most stuff I read from people who have experience with autos say never to have it in a small pot, and never to transplant it due to the short life span. But for me they have burned in Ocean Forest so it has to be fed in something like light warrior for its entire life.
Here is a log for what I now believe to be an ideal condition for autos: (will update it as I go along)

Plant made full recovery and it's now almost 5 inches. Interesting how much it grew during flowering in that ocean forest and 3 gallons container, despite it's early life stress.

i would say use half gallon pots to finish in only because with auto flowers they have a mind of thir own and will flower when they want to like yours will probly only get about 6 inches tall by the time its done.... small yeild but good bud

I have had that happen to me. They generally stayed runts and never really got better, no matter hat I tried. Some even went to an early grave. If you are able to pull her through watch for her to hemie.
good luck.

Took some pics today. I'm trying to figure out how far along it is, or how long before it is done because I want to flush the ocean forest a week in advance.
It's a blueberry but it smells like a sweet grapefruit. Heavenly. Nothing like any cannabis I've ever had. Official classification of cannabis should be a fruit.

mine i think are a little farther into flower... i think yours are about 5wks into flower... mine r 6 wks and look very similar It's an auto-flowering strain that has been in flower for about two weeks so I can't tell exactly when it's ready by how long it has been flowering.
Any way to tell by the look of it? Is it like 20% done, almost done,... ?
