Highly recommend this PBS documentary it makes you think of plants in a whole new way.
Michael Pollan, a professor of journalism and a student of food, presents the history of four plants, each of which found a way to make itself essential to humans, thus ensuring widespread propagation. Apples, for sweetness; tulips, for beauty; marijuana, for pleasure; and, potatoes, for sustenance. Each has a story of discovery and adaptation; each has a symbiotic relationship with human civilization. The film tells these stories and examines these relationships

Apples do not reproduce true to type, meaning that the tree from the seed will produce apples that are almost certain to be different than the parent.

Loved it when the cannabis grower said that his colleague was the one who possessed the green thumb and he could see his plants asking for her when she was gone!!! My plants talk to me all the time....with physical signs.... I'd shit my pants if one actually had a voice, LOL........
