I use windex to clean the glass of my hood. You can clean it at any stage.. Just has to be cool to the touch before you spray any liquid. The t5's can be wiped off with a dust cloth. Do Not spray the reflector part of your t5 fixture. Dry wipe it. Same with the bulbs. Safer that way..

mylar for the most part is expendable, cleaning it isnt worth the effort. when in doubt clean with cool water and soft sponge and as said not until the bulbs are room temp. i probably wouldnt use windex on bulbs either. bleach, i wouldnt use on any plant stuff, somewhere i read that bleach leaves a residue. get a dust rag that is meant for the newer tv screens for bulbs and windex for the hoods or just soap and water. of course you would pull hoods from the room and clean them so as not to overspray onto the vegetation. a common sense question is the best question:thumbsup:

Hey Medded.. I told him to use a dust cloth on the t5 bulbs and NEVER to use chemicals on the fixture. That's a NO NO!

Use the windex on the glass of the enclosed fixture and the lamp.

just make sure that none of the chemicals you're using gets on your plants. that's a biggy.

Also, Sunfilm is an excellent alternative to mylar. It's very reflective, and has a durable baccking that makes cleaning it easy. It's more expensive than mylar, but it lasts forever.
...and it doesnt rattle.

GA said it, just dust out your T-5's
