I am new to the forums and have a question. I have just started looking into the use of Medical Marijuana and believe I would have no problems getting a card. My problem/question is regarding LNI (workers comp) and how getting a card can impact my LNI claim? Is anyone in this community familiar with LNI and the use of MM?

I am getting to the end of my rope. I have tried lvl 1 and lvl 2 pain meds only to find I am allergic to several of them and many have little to no effect on my pain. My next step is to try steroid injection in my neck (crossing my fingers). I am in pain 24/7 and am starting to sink into depression as it is starting to feel like nothing is going to help ease the pain.

Thanks for any response.

MMJ patients are still not protected in the work enviorment. An employer can fire you for using MMJ if they want. L&I does not release medical information to the employer unless you sign a written authorization. L&I will not divulge that information to the employer unless its germain to the reason for your claim. If the company or L&I request a drug test I would recommend subbing with synthetic urine to protect yourself.

I know I have a friend that is a medical pt. he just had to do 4 weeks at a Seattle base pain clinic, for his L&I claim. He showed them his papers and they had NO problem with it and allowed him to use. I know from my own experience a 10 plus year battle.....I know the state as a big NO on prescribing opioid/narcotics for pain. My email is [email protected] send me an email and and I will see what I can find out.and or my facebook-http://www.facebook.com/beaglebabe45

I have read that in WA state if your fired for not passing a UA and your a medical patient, you can get your unemployment...

Found this-Washington State Agency Medical Directors' Group. (AMDG)1 ...... many providers will not prescribe opioids to patients using cannabis. ..... State law forbids L&I from paying for opioids once the patient reaches maximum medical improvement. ...http://www.agencymeddirectors.wa.gov/Files/OpioidGdline.pdf
