I got in crash yesterday, I wasn't driving, but it knocked out one of my teeth, busted open my lip and fractured my jaw, I have 30 stitches on my lip and one missing tooth the root and all came out, am I okay to smoke or should I wait, if so how long? I did have oral surgery yesterday, when the doctor stitched up my lip and wired my other three loose teeth together. Thanks

Sounds like you had a major accident here. :(
No doubt, you were advised not to smoke. However, I can't imagine needing your mmj any more. If you have access to medibles, it would be preferred!
Surely, you have 'discharge instuctions' from your surgeon. No-one will advise you to do otherwise. However, people addicted to tobacco can't seem to quit (hope you don't have that). There are old threads here on this topic. You may want to explore them.
Your 'discharge instructions' you should have, read carefully. Now, cover first base. The 'sucking' while smoking anything will cause some oozing of the wound (s) in your mouth. By now, you should not have any bleeding. It can slow the healing down. If you are a hard and deep 'sucker' on a bong, like I have seen, you can dislodge the 'clots' that you need to heal. You do not want a 'dry socket' (which is the 'clot' or 'plug' in the hole of the tooth) to be sucked out. If that happens you will require more medical attention. Best to avoid that. Just as I have avoided the question. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.
The thing you need to avoid is infection and bleeding! What you do need, is to be walking around and not in bed. Increase your circulation. No heavy activity.
Experience will say, people will find a way to do what they want, anyway! Follow your discharge instuctions. But, I know people that continue smoking without a problem. Just don't suck your socket dry.:rasta: pr

i say get a hold of some strong tincture and take it easy for a while. Get super medicated but still give your body a chance to repair itself. Smoking could prolong healing and could lead to infection if worse comes to worse.
Then again, this comes from the guy who took a bong toke 5 minutes after wisdom tooth surgery.................

Thanks for all the replies guys. Yeah the crash was pretty nasty, one of my friends was driving, We're all okay though, I got the worst of it. I think I'm going to pick back up smoking Tuesday or Wednesday.
