The West Metro Drug Task Force made two arrests this week â?? including an owner of a medical marijuana dispensary â?? and seized about 175 pounds of marijuana worth about $1 million.The task force began investigating, with assistance from the Denver Police Department, in November after law enforcement learned that one of the men was involved in illegal sales of high-grade marijuana.The men â?? Dimitry Genzer, 30, owner of Cannabis and Co., and Joseph Daniel Alejo, 28 â?? were booked this week under suspicion of distribution of marijuana in excess of 100 pounds, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana in excess of 100 pounds. Both charges are class 3 felonies.During the arrest, task force members found about 150 pounds of high-grade marijuana.
A subsequent search of a storage locker in Lakewood produced another 23 pounds.Genzer posted a $25,000 bond on Thursday, and Alejo posted a $75,000 bond the same day.Their next court date is scheduled for Dec. 14 at 10 a.m.The State of Colorado's Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division is investigating Cannabis and Co. and further actions against the dispensary are pending.
