NEED HELP ASAP! HOOD BLEW!

what do i do? my hood shorted out, the ballast still works, and i cannot get another one until tomorrow. im growing 10 pandora paradise and they are on day 16.. will they be okay until tomorrow? (they had no light today!!)

This much dark time may trigger them into flower. If you are doing a sea of green type of grow (10 plants for 1 light is quite a bit if you aren't keeping them smaller), then starting the flower cycle at 16 days shouldn't be an issue; and I would change their light schedule to 12/12 tomorrow when you get your lamp fixed. If it isn't a SOG grow then I would just get your light going asap and see what happens. Having some back-up equipment at times like these can save a lot of headache.

Strange that your hood shorted though, maybe the socket wasn't installed properly. If you have a DMM and are confortable with electricity I would check to see if you have any voltage at the socket and what it is if you do. Not saying it isn't possible but hoods don't usually short out for there aren't any electronics in the hood, just a wire trailing into a socket. Be careful if you decide to troubleshoot the hood yourself, there's some healthy voltages on that side of the ballast.
