Hi Exodus1 and Welcome, sorry to hear you have medical problems that require you use mmj. You may want to follow GrowGoddess's post's and look in the recipe section here, the medical section and look around a lot. There is a lot of information here. I do hope your medical issue isn't extremely serious?

Not knowing what you really nead to use mmj for I will suggest a few things. First, read all the grow logs and Sticky's in the grow section and grow if you can! You will need to and it is a very nice hobby and gives you comfort in times of the lows of any illness.

If you are one of the natural "goodmorning sunshine' people, you may not prefer a sativa. That is unless, you are unable to have your normal 'goodmorning' happy self. In that case, you'd want a sativa in the morning, it kinda gets you going. You can make it in edibles for early ingestion. It gives you a nice lift and gets you into your morning. I would not suggest a total sativa (head high)if you are dealing with pain. It has been reported to me by a few, that it can enhance the feeling of pain (undocumented). Use an Indica for pain and a body high for pain.

Depending on you, your budget and your routine, is how you want to take mmj. Many here use vap. I would not be concerned of getting too high. You don't have to load it and ingest all at once. You can get a vap with a bag and take 'hits' off of the bag all day long. If you have concerns of Too High, take a hit from it every 10 to 15 minutes until you reach your desired affect.

You may have to try many times. Not knowing much history of you-taking a joint may be a bit difficult to hold after inhaling, initially--that too will pass.

Most likely, medibles (is best to ingest) but not always the most popular. Vap, eat, bong, joint...probably in that order. I would suggest you try them all.

Marijuana will not kill you and has not caused one death. You cannot O.D. on it and you may end up liking the 'really high' feeling. You may only need one hit off a vap and have enough medical control for many hours. You will want to find what works best for you and which strain is best for your condition.

Welcome here and let us know if any of us can help you out in any way! When you are not well and this is all you can do, it is a nice friendly place to put your mouse on! See you around here. And Best of Luck with whatever your condition is.:rasta: pr Oh, and I forgot to mention, view Granny Storm Crow's List here, it most likely will hit on whatever your medical condition is!

Oh, I forgot tinctures. Depending on your state, if it is a mmj one, you can purchase them in bottles with droppers and put drops in your mouth. I always have a bottle around. Capsules, many ways to medicate. Check out the threads here. pr

It has more to do with experience. Do you have any pals that toke? It is a bit more fun for 'trial and error.' People you really trust. More people have more sense that toke than drink and fewer are out doing stuff they shouldn't be. It is like any medication. You must get 'used' to it and see how you react to things.

:thumbsup:I have done things in my life I can't remember, but I have never done anything on marijuana I can't remember! pr(as much as I'd like to forget a few things, I can't).

That would be my guiding light for you Exo1. Experiment and see what works for you and start out slowly. It may take awhile for you to get enough to start giving you some real relief. Certainly, a Sativa is not for you and you would want Indica or Indica dominant. Hopefully, you don't have a psychological disease to complicate anything for you. I do have a niece that was diagnosed with epilepsy last year and we bake brownies alot. I would start with medibles with/or a tincture if you don't want to take cookies or brownies everywhere. Really, depends on the 'who' makes the tincture to know how strong it is for you.

You seem to be hesitating and you need to read, as much as you possibly can. You will find, that the long-term use of mmj will be better for you and healthier, no matter how you choose to medicate.

I am assuming your femur fractures required some sort of surgery and implanted devices or were too crunched to do much with? The screws, rods, etc. can be painful. Usually, shouldn't be extremely painful years past? Regardless, guess it is cold up there and a few screws and rods could be painful. Weather does factor in.

Well, for your first time, just get as toasted as you can. See how it affects you, you can't overdose on marijuana. Then let us know. By then, I am sure many others will chime in and offer some advice. You will find in the 'Vap' section a lot of good threads on it. My experience and from what I have read, the difference for one person with a Vape as opposed to another can be totally different. As, a n00b toker, you are going to have to experiment and practice. there was a thread just before yours with a Canadian Caregiver, may want to check it out. And Good Luck to You,

I do medibles, tinctures, joints, blunts, bong and any Pot I want! The only difference for me is the amount I want and stop: Or between the Sativa and Indica: Sativa is more of a brain high and Indica is a body with more calming affects. With your conditions, you definitely want an Indica. I like the calming affect and how things don't bother me so much with the Indica, as well. Perhaps that will help! :rasta: pr
