I'm two weeks into 12/12 and my dark time temps are sometimes in the upper 50s. I suspect that they might even drop a little lower in Dec & Jan. How bad will this effect my yeild and quality? I can't afford to run a heater. And at what tem280247p will the stunting rjruin the project?

Those temps will for sure! You need a heat source.. I run a heater with a thermostat and it it stays at 73-75,lights off.

It won't be running for 12 hours.. Or what ever phase of growth you use the heater in. You set the thermostat at around 73-78,when lights are off. It will only come on when the temps get below setpoint. I can't even tell you how much it would cost, considering when you calculate electric usage it's running for that amount of time. I can't really see that much of an increase in my bill.

I have a small kerosene heater now. Hopefully it takes some of the edge off. It dose produce a little light so I have my conserns about it.

Turn the heater towards the wall and kinda black that portion of the wall out. That way it won't be that much of a reflection. A small little electric space heater would be better. No light at all is best. It's gonna trigger all kinds of weird action in the plants. co2 can't be all bad for it,though..

definitely start with a space heater, ur temps are way too cold to expect a good yeilding plant. wouldnt u be stressed out if u had to sleep in 55degree weather? lol.

Done that survived two Michigan winters homeless ain't fun, it'll put some bark on you though... I know but I'm broke and can't use an electric. Due to irrational hatred tward them harbored by a family who happens to be in charge of the household.

The kerosene heater only brought the temp up into the low sixtys. Its on high now the lights have been off for 3 1/2 hrs and the temp is down to 60 even... mky poor babies

I use kerosene as the main heat source for the house and I can guarantee you that heating one room with an electric space heater will cost less then feeding that diesel burner. I don't know what kero goes for where you are, but here it $4.59 to $4.79 a gal this year and a gallon only gives me about 6-8 hours of burn time.
I use a space heater in the bathroom, and my grow room. I do not run heat in the house during the night, preferring an electric blanket. I then light the heater and scurry for the bathroom in the morning.
And GG, burning kero produces carbon Monoxide, as well as Dioxide. I don't think the carbon monoxide is going to help the plants AT ALL! Even my "big white round" kero heater, <you've seen them, they're popular here in Ga> with a catalytic converter produces some oily residues that coat the walls and the ceiling and...
But GG, I can't tell you this! I was planning on talking you into coming by and painting! ;)

Go to your local pet stores and inquire about a CHE (ceramic heat emitter). It fits in a regular bulb outlet and is much more maneuverable than a space heater. Should be around $16, and comes in a few different wattages.

Left for 3 days and came back to find that a switch was flipped that turns a light on that interferes with my dark time. Hope I don't wind up with seedy meds :(

Maybe it did'nt stress the plant that much to do more damage to more than a stray seed here and there. I would think that was a good thing. To have more beans of a strain you like. Then you would have to hope that it would'nt be a trait that they all go hermie. If not? Then your good as gold.
