Can you put a small sproutling on eighteen and six light cycle? I'm talking small, like the outer shell of the seed just fell off yesterday.

Not understanding your question....

Are you asking if it's ok to place a germinating seed under 18/6 light without soil or a medium???

Yes. Well its already in the dirt as of three days ago. The hard shell of the seed already fell off of the tiny round first leaves. But yes I was wondering if it would hurt it any being so small and on 18/6.

I would recommend 24/0 the first week to avoid stretching. What's the light source?
Fluorescent-tubes are excellent for the first 3 weeks...IMO

Solo cups are year round at Sam's Club or Costco. The grocery store has them as well! Party Cups! Happy shopping and safety for the holidays. pr

Ok I.have it under my 250 watt right now....
And I love those scratch off cups. They keep em stocked at meijers.

What? You can't just use a marker on the red cups? Just kidding, I think the scratch-ons are cool too... Seeds do pretty well under full light allright, just be sure not to let the tender vegetation get burned, you know LEDs up close, HID, HPS backed off some. Great Grow to ya!

Thats allot of light for a lil one. for one seedling you dont need anything other than a 23w CFL daylight bulb, if more than 1 seedling you might need a couple. I use a real smal 2 bulb T5 I picked up from Home dePOT.
The Walmart near me had them cups in Halloween colors (black & orange) and now are back to red and green atm lol.

Yeah I have three other semi small plants under the same light, its not all on one tiny seedlings. The other ones are recovering from being stretched out from the wrong light. Actually one of them is doing something weird too. You know how there's new growth at the "v" in the stems... Well, mine is not in the center, its up the stem of the leaf a little. Is that normal? I'm gonna try and get a pic...

It's really hard to see, but theres the center of the two stems and the new growth is sprouting off to the side, up the stem a tiny ways. Might be over reacting, but I was just wondering if I'm doing anything wrong and will it cause problems further down the road?:stoned:
And no.I didn't pinch anything off the very center, its just growing like that... Wth..

looks fine to me. offset branching is quite common, clones are notorious for doing that.

Yes but mine aren't clones, I guess I'm ok with what there doing, since there taking off madly!! My roots in my dwc bucket ( the plant with the offset stuff) is almost doubling its roots every day!
I'm super stoked :stoned:

If not a clone, then the plant is letting you know it's mature enough to start flowering....alternating nodes....

Are you serious about the flowering ? Because the Damn things only barely a foot tall...

Yup....no kidding.... Once you see the alternating nodes appear, they're ready.... I plop my lil clones in to flower at 4"....they end up 18-24" come harvest....

Veg time is more or less of a preference and dependent on space and method....

Happy Flowering....

Oh, ok. Well how come only one plant out of all three seedlings, is doing that?
Just curious, this is very interesting. This is the seedling I placed in the dwc bucket that has the weird stuff goin on.

Well....if the other two are in soil....then you answered your own question.... Hydro allows plants to break down and build faster than soil....which is why this is the only one doing that....

It's probably the largest of the three as well....

All I can figure is that the one in the dwc is getting better nutrient uptake as well as the water being at a low temp the oxygen intake has increased as well. Mine has taken off!

Here it is.. I've done an air layering project, that's the reason for the rooter plug on the plant.

Nice! I just went today and baught the flowering nutes for my dwc bucket. Hoping to bud it in three weeks, after my big harvest. I'm so excited, I need to make another one dwc bucket for a trainwreck seed I have left from cannabis cup.

I've never done hydro for a long period. Cause I always killed them. Now that I have a little more understanding of what the plant or strain likes. I feel comfortable with my efforts. I feel like she will make many babies and now I've got 6 of the kits for the buckets. I'm gonna set them up for a hydro grow. Never done that either. I'm a soil kinda guy. Lots more forgiving than hydro. I seem to have the right nutrient mix that she loves. Oh.... I added an airstone to the res and,WOW! Those roots are churnning in the bucket. Love that extra oxygen. I think it has more to do with the water temp and airflow. Being the two main ingredients for a successful hydro grow.

Yes, the air stones really help. I used to only have the tubes attatched to the bottom of my bucket, I was getting a little discouraged in the progress because there wasn't a lot of new growth goin on ( and some stretching from being under the wrong light) now I have an airstone attatched to the ends of both the air tubes at the bottom of my bucket. In the past four to five days, I've had so much new growth, my dwc is passing my dirt ones ( and one of those was super stretched). I know the pictures are kinda shitty and I feel they really don't do them justice, but this is my dwc. It was hard to hold the plant and the camera;) but I got it.
The roots, I feel, have had stunted progress due to the transplant. I started the seed off in dirt, it was about four or five inches tall when I transplanted it into rockwool, very carefully. I had to carefully and gently massage all the dirt out from the roots, then I had to carefully insert the roots ( easier said than done mind you, there's a lot of roots on seedlings, I am used to small clones) into the small rockwool cube hole. I waited a few days unfilled I figured the roots had took to the rockwool a bit, making sure to keep up on the water, no nutes yet. I then put it into the dwc bucket with no airstones, and way too much nutes. Tat morning I was flushing my medium and washing and refilling the bucket. Nute burn only on the tips of the bottom leaves, t.g.I stuck with no nutes for about another week, then started dosage at half the reccommended dose. As soon as i got the airstones, my plant started all that new growth and I have to feed her more as her ppms go down more now in one day. I.have no life so I check my water ever twelve.hours sometimes more. I dont add chems each time, but I just like to monitor it. ;)

So you've seen the difference that the stones make.I think it even helps keep the res. temp at bay. Cause the water is being circulated. All this stuff is new to me. But,I'm very observing.. Kinda like you... Got a lot of time on my hands right now.Seeing the root growth is the most cool to me! The airstone gets them all tangled and has no ill affect as I can tell so far.. I think they love the stone. I know I love a Good Stone, huh?

Anyway..... You got it going on,for sure! She looks soooo healthy! Great job!
