View Full Version : HOW TO CHANGE SOIL??

My plants a week into flowering and im using MG multi-compost which is starting to corse problems and i want to switch to organic potting soil, how would i completly change the soil without any damage to the plant??

You can't completely change the soil. Here is what I would do. Not saying it's the best answer so do some reading too. You'll need a pot bigger than the one you have it in now. Prep it with soil in the bottom. Let the soil in your current pot dry out a bit. Not completely, but about 1/2 way. Gently tap the sides with a hammer or other weighty object. Tip it upside down supporting the soil at the top with the flat of your hand. Slide the pot off. allow any loose soil to fall away with a GENTLE shake. Don't try to remove soil from roots. Replant. The roots will find the new soil and the new soil will buffer the hot stuf. It should help considerably.

I agree 100% that is what i was trying to say in the other thread. I have done this in the past and it help considerably.

Over watering will cause all the buffers in the soil to be washed away,causing nute lock-out. Just as reminder to others.Do what bigs,says and you'll see a huge change. This post will help alot of others with using old or the wrong soil. I have to add... Whatever soil you choose. You need to learn how to use that brand.
