SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) â?? Ohio troopers making a traffic stop say they found a pot present: a gift-wrapped package containing 25 individually wrapped packets of marijuana.
The driver, from Washington state, has been charged with trafficking and possession of marijuana and possession of criminal tools, both felonies, and a misdemeanor count of driving under suspension.
The State Highway Patrol says the 28 pounds of pot discovered in the car's trunk is valued at more than $63,000.
Thirty-five-year-old Robert Gomez of Bremerton, Wash., is being held in the Clark County jail. Jail officials didn't know whether he had an attorney, and none was indicated in court records.
Lets all hope that Ohio gets legal mmj soon! pr

C'mon now....I know you two have a little more optimism than that.... Maybe I just have my head in the clouds ....
If someone ever comes out with sensible regulation for legalization then 28 lbs would be not only legal but cheap.... Just my :twocents:....

Idk, I havnt decided weather or not I think all the states will become legal. Because I have this little idea, might be stupid to Yall, but I see a pattern here. During almost every war the US has had so far, some type of cannabis was legalized. They used to make little stamps you could buy that said hemp on them. If you baught one, it entitled you to grow your own hemp for the use in products like clothes and string and practical stuff. That was way back in the day though. Although I've never really researched try to find a pattern, I feel there's no need. Someday when the."war" is over, the government will announce they had a breakthrough in the study of cannabis. And they will proceed to announce that smoking weed is harmfull to something and all mmj will be caputt on a federal level.
Way to be optimistic right? ;)
It's been legal for some years now and some states can't seen to get it together (Michigan) so somebody's gonna have to regulate shit.
Either that or we need a new attorney general...;)

I think that day is much closer than anyone thinks.... I'm sure, back in the earlier part of the 1900's, men thought women were never going to have equal rights.... White people didn't think blacks were ever going to be equal either.... My point is that most people back then never thought it would happen and it did....and now we have Cannabis at the top of the "oh shit we're going to have to listen to the people" list....
Cannabis will be legalized in my lifetime....and I'll be here to grow and share with others.... How soon will be a matter of politics and the right wording....

I too, expect to see Cannabis legal in my lifetime. Still not sure if we all have equal rights yet! Out of the 4 most qualified to be president last election, the woman with more experience got the boot! Just like voting in U.S.; black men could vote before any woman! just history!
I would think, transporting 28 pounds is a result of no mmj law in Ohio. If they had mmj laws, they would grow their own and most unlikely a grower from Washington State wouldn't be carelessly transporting it there!
Lets all hope our brothers and sisters in Ohio manage to get mmj laws passed! I would hope to see mj simply LEGALIZED and skip the each state bull!
On the other hand, the news was showing a tunnel under the border from Mexico to CA and seized like 26 million $ of pot! We will always have the few that will always resort to buying 'underground.' And I understand that thinking. Getting your req. and registering with a collective, etc. you are on a record, someone knows you toke! Like debating gun law legislation! Or abortion. Many have strong ideas of it. I simply have strong ideas in what I know, has been proven and effective in medical problems!
Anyone leaving your state for the holidays? Do not wrap your meds in gift wrap! pr
I used to have this one vendor that I would get from a long time ago who would get special baggies for holidays like black and orange design for halloween, etc. :D

Holidays end early for couple on alleged marijuana possession
By Paula Horton, Herald staff writer
Richland police arrested two people Wednesday afternoon after reportedly finding drugs and more than a pound of pot wrapped up as Christmas presents in a home, police said.
Police, responding to a report of a disturbance at 1624 Jadwin, Apartment E, about 4 p.m., reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the apartment. One of the residents, Angel E. Lopez, 22, of Richland, immediately was arrested on two outstanding drug-related warrants, police said.
Officers also detained the other resident, Stephanie M. Dow, 22, of Richland, and four guests, police said. Two infants also were in the apartment.
Police obtained a search warrant and found the marijuana wrapped as presents along with suspected psilocybin mushrooms, scales, drug paraphernalia and packaging materials, police said. About $1,300 in cash also was seized.
Lopez and Dow were arrested for investigation of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver (within 1,000 feet of a school), possession of over 40 grams of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
The four others, whose names were not released, were cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and released. The two infants were released to the care of a family friend.

Kennewick man's gifts of pot, cash thwarted
By Kristin M. Kraemer, Herald staff writer
The search of a Kennewick apartment after the resident was reportedly seen inside smoking a bong allegedly turned up about 60 grams of packaged marijuana and Christmas cards with pot attached to bows.
Wesley Wayne Smith, 57, now is charged with possession with intent to manufactureor deliver marijuana. He pleaded innocent and faces trial March 7.
Police reportedly were walking through a Cleveland Street apartment complex on Dec. 24 when they noticed Smith "inside his apartment with his drapes open smoking from a bong," court documents said. The officers approached the apartment and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside. The smell "grew stronger" when Smith answered their knock at the front door, documents said.
Smith reportedly was asked if he had a medical marijuana card, and he responded that he did not. He was then detained and advised of his Miranda rights, while officers applied for a search warrant.
Once inside Smith's home, they found pot packaged for sale, packaging materials, a working digital scale and "four Christmas cards with the names of intended recipients done up with bows, each bow containing a quantity of marijuana and a quantity of cash exceeding $500," court documents said.
He allegedly claimed that all of the marijuana in the home belonged to him.
Smith posted $2,500 bail.

thanks wm for adding to this, very interesting newsworthy reports! We all need to be aware, just because it is legal in our states for mmj, doesn't mean we need to push our luck with the legal folks!
"Two infants also were in the apartment." wm: :( #1) got what they deserved! #2) poor fellow, it seems rather cold in December for "police walking down the street!" To just happen to notice. This is suspicious! I smell a rat!
Some old threads here when people called P.D. for a distrubance, as in case #1 you posted.
As rule #1) hide your grow and rule #2) do not call attention to yourself: especially if you have too many plants or anything that could get you arrested!
Those people in Washington State, sure seem geneous! Mighty fine growing area up there! pr
