This might should have been posted under legal but it is about drug testing also. I am new to the sight and enjoying all the information.

A Florida judge has just blocked Florida's new law on drug testing welfare recipients. I have mixed feelings on this one. It is our tax dollars helping these people out and I know there are people who truly need it and there are just as many if not more abusing the system. I think they should be tested. If I were on welfare, I would be doing everything I could to get off including stop smoking for a while to get a job as I am doing now. Especially so I could get back to smoking again. I do not condone testing whatsoever, especially against MJ. Maybe if they could just screen for all others and leave MJ out. I do condone DOT testing but also wish they could leave MJ out of it too. See, told yall, I have mixed feelings about this but I truly believe in testing welfare recipients. That is not your money you are spending and I would not spend other peoples money on nothing but what my family needs to survive. I truly am not trying to offend anyone so please if you disagree, don't take it personal. Just treat it like a debate topic if you disagree. Nothing else. Peace always and best wishes to all....

This past summer I was reading in "The Tennessean" newspaper. The article was about this very thing. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that-Florida was spending more money to test all these recipients than it was saving them. The percentage of use was very low. The article went on to say, 'most people would rather not get welfare than be tested.'

I draw from that, that a good portion would not give up using for welfare due to the law! It would be interesting if a blind study could be done. With this law passing-we have one happy-assed member here that is testing positive after several months!

Since, it ain't my state, it concerns me little. I am more concerned of tax dollars that are wasted in the billions, not ones below 50K.

Nice thoughts and will see what others add! pr
