NEED HELP!!! HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP AN INDOOR PLANT IN VEG

HI I HAV A 3 WEEK OLD PLANT AND HAVE KEPT IT AT A 24/0 LIGHT I STARTED TURNING THE LIGHT OFF BY A HALF HOUR A DAY YESTERDAY I NEED TO KNO HOW LONG TO KEEP IT IN THE VEG AND WHEN SHOULD I SWITCH TO A 12-12 SCEDULE. PS STARTED THE PLANT ON OCTOBER 3

Dont use 24/0 max 20/4 in veg even better is 18/6. If they are autos use 20/4 all the way. And you can start flowering if you want it all depends on the size of the grow space. Plants can double in size in flowering stage. Some people leave their plants 4 weeks others 6 weeks in veg. It's a personal preference. When you dont allow enough veg time plants tend to have a more immature (less tasty)and less potent end product.

If your light is too far away the plant will strech like crazy. light should be 12-16 inchs from plant, this will reduce streching.A good way of knowing if the light is too close is with your hand, place it on top of the plant if it's too hot for your hand , then it's too hot for the plant. Your soil looks weird. maybe the plant is not too fond of it. It looks organic and may be too powerful for the plant. Too much compost is hard on the plant. Maybe you are watering it too much. to avoid over nuting your plants feed them in this order feed,water,water,feed,water,water....And what type of water are you using tap,wellwater or reverse osmosis. And what is the ph of the soil,water, water+nutes? Do you have a tds meter ?

na bro i dont even kno what a tds meter is and i dont hav a the greatest setup either im using a 90 watt halogen with a old stick fan the soil is miricale grow potting soil it feeds for 6 months im using regular tap water and i water it every few days [attachment=o279386] sorry for the shitty pic quality its from a cell phone

250w digital switchable metal halide(mh)/ high pressure sodium(hps) grow light kit. Soil promix ( sold in gardening stores). Climat control for temp and humidity. Carbon filter with exhaust fan. the list goes on......

try a big 125-200w cfl with a reflector and bulb socket like the ones hps lamps use. Buy one light bulb for veg(6500k) and one for flowering (2500k). The k is for kelvin it refers to the color of the light spectrum.

Or you can go at any hydroponics store and buy a used hps kit(~100$), most place will sell you used equipement if you ask them. Use it 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flowering. Hps bulb are not the best for veg cycle, but you will barely notice the difference. Commercial growers never take the time to switch to mh for veg and hps for flowering. they just use the hps lights all the way.

buy 400w kit or 600w not 1000w too big for your setup.And used 250w kits are rare but not impossible to find. note: you may need to assemble the kit, some store only sell used parts and will charge you if you want them to assemble the kit. But it's safer that way.

You are usually looking at around 8-10 weeks sometimes longer depending on strain

No only water, you do this to remove the nutrients in the plant so you dont smoke them. If you dont do that your bud will be harsh to smoke, nutes make you cough. You can buy a rinsing/cleaning solution like taste buds to help you get rid of the nutrients also.

CH, you have any pictures of examples of this resin gland? My first batch is getting close to 8 weeks into flowering. I've been trying to look at the trichs, but would like to hear some more about this resin gland as well. This patience thing is killing me :) Thanks!

Hey peeps i'm just starting out got my grow room set up and had my plants under the light for 24/0 for 6weeks, im struggling whether to put them on flower just now or wait, but im also struggling to sex them both but i think ive got a female and a hemaphrodite but im not sure, ive taken some pics but im gonnae have to wait till i do more posts to post them eh? can anyone tell me when i'll be able to post pics? any help would be much appreciated but obviously u wont know till i get the pics up lol

I agree miracle grow is terrible, I just loved the way you put it, never heard of it actually directly lowering the thc level... but it actually makes sense by growing the plant in poorer/hostile conditions. I think it might be getting a little bit too late for me tonight, I'm still laughing for some reason...

Hey bak3ed, I'd be surprised if you could identify the sex of the plants clearly at their current stage, putting them into a flowering photo period is the way to have them show it. You can also let them mature enough in veg to the point where they develop full, clearly distinguishable pre-flowers, which are the same as the normal flowers of course just smaller and around larger nodes, but doing that indoors requires quite a bit of space and not everyone has that available, so if you don't I would recommend force flowering at around 6 weeks into veg. Just make sure that it is grown up enough to essentially be a full adult plant, because it will continue to stretch out in size about twice as large during flowering.

As for when can you post pictures.. its either once you've made 25 or 50 posts, I don't remember, but I believe it was mentioned earlier on the first page of this thread. Also in the future its always considered curteous to start new topics of discussion in new threads to help reduce confusion between trying to explain two different solutions for two problems.

mate your light is way to far from the plant! your light will do nothing for you invest in a 250 watt cfl only 30 pounds,you will notice a diffrence strait away i cant see your grow room being the right temp and humity! when you flower your plant you decide when you want to harvest and cut it down when 70% of the white pistils are brown is about right,im a new grower myself but done a lot of net search before-hand,check out my grow
