Guess someone needed Blue to keep the cat out of his grow room!!!

Tue, 18 Oct 2011 03:38:01 -0400 ALBANY, Ore. (AP) â?? Blue the dog had spent his days locked up in the Albany Pet Hotel, waiting while his death sentence is appealed. Now police say someone climbed the fence at the hotel, smashed a window and helped Blue the dog escape death row.
Albany police Lt. Casey Dorland said Monday that the only thing reported missing from the kennel is the fugitive canine. Police believe he was taken sometime Sunday night or early Monday morning.
Blue was sentenced to die last fall after he bit a toddler, but his owner appealed. The dog has been housed at the pet hotel waiting for his case to be resolved.

Bless the kindhearted person for saving the dog! ...yes im sure a few were thinking "but he bit a toddler., he should be found." but i myself own a dog & sadly many parents will not teach their children how to safely approach a dog etc..(although i dont know all details of how this happened..) ...but then People are not put down due to 'biting or attacking others'...
I wish i could save ALL dogs that are homeless...

I'd say this critter was 'rescued' by someone like you. Didn't think about what kids do to dogs, but my 5 yr. old niece is pretty rough with my 7.2 pound dog and instead of biting when she is rough 'handled', she yelps. Then I rescue her. I have been working with her on how to approach a dog, handle and hold them. When I go to her soccer games, she doesn't say hi, just: "Where is Patches!" It would be my guess, this dog is a breed that isn't very well liked.

I can add, however, that I have seen innocent babies that were left alone with a family pet and without any provacation they munch up their heads! Particularly when the baby is in a play pen! We need to not let our dogs around a potential hazard either! As responsible pet owners. pr

Lol I agree with that. My neice is the worst with animals, not just dogs. When they hear her little voice coming, they go running. It's hard to watch sometimes because her face fills up with happiness and excitement about the animal. But the animal is trying to get away from her death grip.lol we have to constantly remind her that the animals are.smaller than us ( well she's tiny at four yrs so its still kinda hard for her to understand) and you must be gentle. She will Chase them down and grab them up any way her little hand can snatch. Lol its pretty funny to us but the animals don't find it at all amusing. I'm sure if it wasn't the super old chiwahwah (spelling?) Or my kitten, if it was a more aggressive breed, she would be the one getting bit too. Kids just get so excited, and all caution related thaughts go out the window, or at least my neice is like that

In the news today (People Pc). a Very long article saying. The dog showed up in N.J. Being called the Miracle dog and now up for Adoption! Hope they give it to an older couple without hearing. Ends up, it is a beagle. Have lived next to a few and they bark too much. This one may just bite kids only though! Only in America! Definitely "rescued" as per the article! pr

Wed, 16 Nov 2011 12:51:16 -0500 NUTLEY, N.J. (AP) â?? The dog that survived an Alabama dog pound's gas chamber has found a permanent home in New Jersey.
Daniel, a beagle mix named by animal control workers in Alabama after the biblical figure who survived the lion's den, joined four other rescued dogs last Thursday at the home of Joe Dwyer and his family in Nutley, about 10 miles west of New York City.
"He's in extremely good shape, especially in light of what he went through," Dwyer said Wednesday after returning from a trip to the veterinarian. "His attitude is just incredible."
Daniel surprised workers at the Animal Control facility in Florence, Ala., on Oct. 3, the day he was supposed to be put down with several other animals in a stainless-steel box roughly the size of a pickup truck bed that was filled with carbon monoxide.
The dog emerged frightened but unscathed, and was eventually flown to New Jersey by Eleventh Hour Rescue, a nonprofit that saves dogs slated for euthanasia.
The organization received more than 100 requests to adopt Daniel, its president said last month. Dwyer said he and his family had two "meet-and-greets" with Daniel before being approved for adoption.
Dwyer said Daniel has become fast friends with the Nutley family's other four pooches â?? two dachshunds, a beagle mix and a pit bull mix.
"By Thursday evening they were all lying down together," he said. "It was wonderful to see."
