Really interested to hear more details about why this took place.

Because it violates federal law. What surprises me is that people say "we're 100% in compliance with state law, we don't know why we were targeted..."
I have a feeling over the next six months we're going to be seeing a lot of this and people will be up in arms completely clueless as to "why this is happening".
People in CO think because of their model they are immune from federal prosectuion?

It was the second time their facility was searched and shut down.
Sounds like the DPD had cause to be looking into their operations.
The affidavit is telling of the type of operation they ran.
Avoiding shady business or working with shady businesses is of the utmost importance.
Greed, combined with a doleful amount of recklessness.

It shouldn't be, but it is.
In the eyes of the law, including Colorado state law that regulates medical marijuana, they were doing some suspicious stuff including allegedly shipping across state lines.
If you want to stay in business you have to play by the rules.

It only takes one administration to throw things way out of whack! By the end of the 70's a lot of people thought cannabis was on the verge of being legalized.
The Regan admin. took over and everything changed, CAMP was destroying crop after crop and by the end of the 80's prices had skyrocketed, within a two year period wholesale prices had doubled.

Indeed and according to one of the stories on Westword one of their grow sites was unlicensed & unpermitted.

That's a very rough break for Cherry Top Farms, who weren't even the target of the investigation! Meanwhile, the two creeps who led the feds to Cherry Top's grow site go free. Is that what really happened? If so /facepalm.
