Just recently started looking into a recirculating drip setup and while I was doing the latest scavenger hunt in local stores, I came across something to share. In Lowes I found adjustable dripper stakes. I know allot of you just went "So??". Well when I say adjustable I mean the flow rate. The very top of these lil buggers is like a knob which u can increase or decrease to ur plants liking. Adjustable from 0-10 gph, of course that will also depend how strong of a pump. A "friend" of mine just set one of these up and uses a small fountain pump, turned all the way down, and it works great!! Next time I see it I will try and get some pics as it is another decent looking diy setup and no doubt will save some peeps some cash.
Like I said this was just a lil info I stumbled across and you all no me, if it looks workable and makes sence I will share to help others. I'll try and get those pics and post them up.

When dripping, you're dependent on the drip action to infuse oxygen, is this right? For about a year, I was trying to come up with a way that used the spraying action of aeroponics but in a simpler, dwc kind of format. Finally one day it hit me. Just use a drip ring but use rubber cement to seal up the drip holes and cut the tube in two places opposite to each other and insert small 45 degree sprayers. I suspect that the spraying action causing water droplets to become small forces more oxygen to adhere to the water/nute mix. This increases the O2 content. Also, if you put the plant in a bucket that has the bottom half cut off, you can insert that first bucket into a second bucket and raise the plant up some. the advantage to this to get create a self-contained reserviour down below but allow the roots to get exposed to air, which is good for them and also the water/nute mix will run down the roots. It's kind of like the old krusty bucket only he used a powerful air pump to create foam of water/nutes mix in the bottom bucket. I figuered there had to be a way to do this with only 5 gallon bucket, simple, small, self-contained, with the spraying action of aero. The answer is to mix the good things from different systems. You could even glue the spray/drip ring to the underside of the top bucket's lid and this way you wouldn't have water droplets bouncing all over and getting things wet. If handled that way, then use 90 degree sprayers. The whole point to using sprayers is to force oxygen into the water and the sparying action should ensure the roots get wet. If not, then use a T shaped connector at the drip ring with one end pointing downward, run a small tube down from the T for a few inches, past the bottom of the net pot, and insert a sprayer at that end. Lower ppm/TDS is probably required for an oxygen-enriched grow bucket.
