National Cannabis Industry Association Spokeswoman. Isn't this the same organization that Len Is involved with as well?

A lot of people are getting worked up about this threat. In my opinion, as long as our producers continue to follow the rules they will be okay. The push for more plants got them what they wanted, but then some of them want even more. Supposedly it was to provide clones to the patients, but instead they increased the plant numbers for flowering. Yes, finished product is good, but not when you ask for one reason but then do something else. The increased plant numbers should at least bring the prices down sooner rather than later.

Dead link.....just find the story that is all over the Internet or type in "Feds crackdown Melissa Milam" and you will find the article. I read it several times and never connected the name with our Melissa. Great catch ManOBuds! This is why we don't have dispensaries. The IRS is another concern. These bureaucrats have got to get a clue!

I am for full legalization immediately, across the country. That being said, I think we all knew it was just a matter of time before Uncle Sam took an interest in the "Wal-Mart Growers" all over the State of CA. I mean, it really pisses me off that I have to work within a 4 (fllowering) plant limit, and then I turn on the tv and some dude from Norther CA is showing off his 6-greenhouse operation, all legal and sanctioned by the local Sheriff... a "collective" or something, just a huge amount of weed, something had to give. I'm sure they'll still end up with a situation more liberal than ours, it's all about the money. Oh and "Budbay" didn't help! Shipping weed allegedly across the USA!!!!!!

The supposed 'crackdown' in CA is reportedly for "For Profit" dispensaries, collectives and co-ops. Unfortunately, we recently had 2 laws signed in by Gov. Brown (which have previously been posted) with a lot of liberal language that can be twisted to whatever the "local" government wants. For local enforcement.

In light of that, one collective (The Health and Wellness Collective) in Riverside has taken it to court, after being cited to "close" within 45 days. The collective read the letter of the law with lawyers before setting up shop, and is Not For Profit. Set up and run by most collective members (lowered prices). The case is going through the circuit courts now. First round: LOST. What does this mean. Not so LIberal in CA. Will depend on local gov't. The only thing we can strive forward for: is total legalization or at the very least to get it down-graded to a schedule 4 drug, as opposed, to Sechedule 1-currently as if it were fun drugs of the streets in the '60's. Not all of us tried 'everything'.

Not so liberal in CA. However, the news does report that CA supplies most pot to the nation. I suspect a lot comes from South of the Border.

The 'crackdown' that started this past week-end was "For Profit" groups. The one I know of, is definitely Not For Profit and the Riverside Local Gov't wants it closed. It doesn't seem right, the only Not For Profit Collective may close. It seems weed should be shared, not priced out of medical use!

So, keep growing your own and be happy with whatever limit you are allowed to grow. I believe we are allowed 6 mature plants and several 'babies'. If you lose a crop-you are toast without the babies! Plus, if you are unlucky and have a bunch of males-toast again.

Bottom line is: The Gov't discovered that The door is ajar and "there is a lot of money in marijuana". Most likely, the Gov't realizes, they can make "jobs" by hassling growers. Hopefully, CA will not be a flagship for bullshit from Local Gov't. Certainly, the nation's attention is at Wall Street right now and taking action against Medical Marijuana is to get the focus off of our gov't 'bail-outs' and the current protests of (Wall Street) to another topic-Medical Marijuana. Doesn't look like the 2011 'Hippies" protesting Wall Street have much senergy. pr

For profit or not I believe the Fed's will shut them all down. IF people had just kept to themselves and grew their own medication we wouldn't be in this mess.

IF people had just kept to themselves and grew their own medication we wouldn't be in this mess.

If Martin Luther King would have just kept to himself and accepted the bullshit the government was serving, the civil rights movement might not have happened when it did....or at all....

If John Fitzgerald Kennedy wouldn't have spoken out about secret societies within the government and the transparency needed from the government, he probably wouldn't have been assassinated....

So we're supposed to hide and act like we're doing something wrong??? That kinda defeats the purpose of educating people on the benefits/normalities of Cannabis.... Just like alcohol, cannabis is not for everyone.... Like mentioned by PR, this is normal everyday politics.... Covering up the Wall Street story by declaring War on all med cannabis providers.... The usual, "Change the Subject Politics".... Watched any debates lately??? Perry and Romney are real good at that....

Back to what I was getting at.... We need to collectively stand up to the fed government and tell them to leave us the f*ck alone!!!! Cause if we don't, they will keep releasing tension then pull on the leash hard.... We need to take that leash off!!! Cause if we don't, who will???

Well technically speaking you are doing something wrong, whether you or I agree with it or not doesn't change that fact.

MLK and JFK are completely different scenarios.

Who will be the sacrifical lamb to take the fed's on? Who has the resources? The ONLY chance would be if say these states pooled their resources together and fought the fed's to change their laws but honestly, I think now days states have much bigger issues.

FWIW I have problems with legalizing, tax stamping then selling...ANYTIME the federal gov. gets involved in commerce the cost factor will skyrocket, people need to keep that in mind. You may pay as much tax as you are paying retail. Look at the tobacco industry!
