Ok so for my next grow I'm looking for that perfect strain. I'm looking for a good day time smoke that's good for studying and a night time smoke that'll keep me asleep thru the night. I'm going to grow 4 plants under a 1000w hps light. Space is not an issue. Some come on dude let's hear it.

To achieve what you want you will have to first find a strain that appeals to you.... Once you do, grow it, harvest some early (for daytime) and harvest the rest late (for night)....

I could sit here and type strains that I like but ultimately you will choose one that you like.... The only suggestion I would make is to get a hybrid indica/sativa strain....

I did a few bag seed grows just to perfect my growing before I take on a major strain so I don't waste the clone or seed.

Personally, I would go with something like Jack Herer ( I think it's something like 55% sativa). A Haze blend would probably work well too. Since the key component would have to be the daytime element ( if you focus on the staying asleep thru the night aspect, you obviously aren't going to be of the mindset to study), I would think a sativa dominant strain would be the best fit. Bubblegum would be another option, if my memory is correct.

Ok so here is what I'm gonna pick up. Delta 9 Simpson kush, DJ Short True Bluebarry, and RESERVA PRIVADA Kandy Kush. I was also looking at sweeth tooth from BC Bud what do y'all think about these strains? Anyone grow any of them? I'm only growing 3 at a time under a 1000w hps light in a 3'6x6'7'' grow tent

You should get some nice taste combinations from all of those. Allow me to make another suggestion considering what you are trying to do. It's all about the trichomes when it comes time to decide when to harvest. If you want a more cerebral high, pick earlier... at the point when all the trichomes are cloudy and just a few have gone amber. To get the more physical high, harvest late when 20-50% are amber. Some strains lend themselves to this very well and you can get several distinctly different highs out of the same garden, just by watching the trichomes and picking at the right time. Good luck with your grow!
ps. there is also a very good list out here regarding the medical uses of each of the individual strains. It's like dial-a-med... check it out!

I have Multiple Sclerosis, so my choices may not suit you.

I use Jack Herer to get the energy or "buzz" to get me through some days and get stuff done. It's a busy, thinking person's high. Very cerebral - I like that a lot about Jack. It's amazing for cleaning, artistic painting, vocal performance, problem solving and general household stuff. Makes me very thorough. Makes me too "chatty" to be with others, though. I enjoy being alone and busy, so it's ok. I move so nicely with Jack on board.

I've tried Kandy Kush. Great for pain and spasms, nice mellow high. However, the "stupid and forgetful properties of cannabis are quite well represented with Kandy Kush. I save it for severe pain and spasm, I can't afford to be that dumb - even for a few hours, even when I'm alone.

I also really like Kush Berry for relaxing and since it's low on the THC (around 11%) and higher on the CBD's, it helps my MS stiffness, without getting me so high.

Have also used Northern Lights #5, which is great stuff, but if I use it repeatedly over a number of days, it seems to take my mood to a slightly grayer place that I don't like. So I use it infrequently. That way I get to benefit from it's peaceful, deeply relaxing stone (great for evening) without the downside.

Jack is a very picky strain! Takes 12-14 weeks to finish.Even with bagseed grows under their belt won't change the fact that Jack is a very unforgiving strain.. Wheather in soil or hydro, esspecially hydro. But that is with any strain.

Not a strain to be taken lightly.

Headband or Alaskan Ice for night time.....I study with both and believe marijuana only makes you lazy if you let it.
