I've written a petition to end the drug war and legalize ALL drugs while regulating and taxing them. I need 150 signatures to get it on the Whitehouse.gov public website.

C'mon sign it, we've got to have guts or this stupid drug war will never be over...

I have a feeling; this all new to you?

What do you mean? Like is it a totally hopeless thing and we shouldn't even bother?

150 name, online petition, is hopeless.

Oh, well I have to get 150 names for it to become public and then everyone that comes to the site, whitehouse.gov, can read it and decide if they want to sign it or not. If they do and I am able to get a total of more than 5,000 signatures over a month's time then the Obama administration has committed to answering the petition if not actually doing something. There is one there already with over 20k signatures and the petition site has only been up for less than 2 days. I know what you're saying and I (deep down) share some of your cynicism, but I think it's great good fun to push this stuff right at them and since they committed to an answer, I'm sure if I can just get it past the initial 150 signatures I will get 5,000 within a month's time. C'mon, play along...

If nothing else, legalization is getting attention in the press that would otherwise not even mention it...

Thanks! I have my lance and the windmill looms large, but I'm willing to try!
