Medical Marijuana

Hi everybody, I'm new so bare with me, I live in a state where medical Marijuana is not allowed yet, how hard would it be to go to a legal state to get medical pot. I know it would be difficult but maybe you think? My pain dr. say's it would help me but his hands are tied. Any suggestions?

Thank you for answering my question, do I need to give an address for which ever state that I go to? Also Do I just find a pain dr there or how is the best way to go about doing this and maybe suggest a state? I was thinking maybe one close to sc but any state that I can get into will be fine.
