Apparently the officials are finished with their massive raid on the national forest in the Mendocino area and the results are a little staggering.

630,000 plants
2,000 lbs of processed bud
118 arrests

It seems the DEA, local and state authorities were all involved and my guess is it was an investigation years in the making.

The end result?

Higher street prices making it even more profitable for the black market and reducing the legal supply again driving prices even higher. Factor that in with what is expected to be a smaller then normal harvest due to a very late winter/spring weather and don't be too suprised if prices don't jump or at the very least we won't see the market flooded this fall. The unknown factor though is that there was expected to be more back yard growers with personal gardens then ever before.

According to the local paper they only got 545,313 plants but that might not have been the final total. Apparently they did the same thing in the central valley last summer and got around 460,000 plants. These latest busts all happened in just three weeks.

I live on an island of private land surrounded by the national forest. It was pretty intense for those threee weeks. The Law Enforcement rangers were pulling over every car. My neighbor got pulled over 3 times in one week by the same pair of officers. They pulled me over once and tried to pull me over again but I ditched them on the dirt road due to my superior knowledge of where the potholes are.

I don't really believe the supply will be affected. I have 3 new neighbors doing 99's. My friend 30 miles away has several new folks doing 99's in his area as well.

Good read ----> Brown Chops Down Marijuana Eradication Program - The Bay Citizen (http://www.baycitizen.org/marijuana/story/brown-chops-down-marijuana-eradication/)

"Law enforcement officials have deemed CAMP a cost-effective means of destroying marijuana plants. But even cutting down millions of plants in a year is just a trim. Ruzzamenti said he believed that law enforcement eradicated around 10 percent of the crop every year.

??It??s our belief that California is the leading producer of marijuana consumed in the United States ?? more than any other source, including Mexico,? Ruzzamenti said. ??I can??t believe I??m saying it.?

Don't kid yourselves, the statistics quoted are a pure guess. When CAMP started in the 80's it had a HUGE impact on prices and supply, prices doubled and supply could be scarce at times. I knew people who would score a QP and it would be gone by the next day. When wholesale prices got to $1200 a QP I quit smoking. In a year and a half it went from $700-$1200.

Hey Purple Daddy,
In my neck of the woods we had three whole days days of muckin about by the locals and feds and all the could come up with was one arrest for stuff they knew about in 2008! Again what a colosal waste of our money. The so called "War on Drugs" is in my very humble opinion nothing but the various power centers of our country trying to continue their control over us.
