it's been 3 weeks since I had an edible. my last edible, 3 weeks ago, kicked my ass.

I tried a Buddha Bar. supposedly 4-8 doses in a bar, ate the whole thing. next to no effect. I don't understand what makes it hard to make a good edible? I've had so many crappy ones and so few good ones.

I don't understand either. Last summer, I bought a Deez sugar cookie and some confection from KC's place, ate them both, drove back south and I was wasted by Fairplay. My hands were tingling. I have no idea why edibles are so terrible, but they are; the good ones are rare.

I agree. I use edibles almost exclusively for my medicine and have learned how to calculate and regulate cannibinoid delivery. I think a lot of manufactures just make their Budder and cook away but it's very important to know the weight of your "ingrediant" and not overcook them. I believe that by 365 degrees F most cannibiniods vaporize. TCH Vapes at as low as 315 degrees. If overcooked the THC can be gone and the medical effects of it as well. The other Cannibinoids run a bit higher and can be left behind for medical use but the "buzz" from the TCH is less and can be dissapointing for some.

oh I miss Deez. they kicked ass every time (are they back?!). the Cheesecake is always good. I baked my own last night and it kicked my ass. slept all night in no pain for the first time in awhile.

I'd like to hear about other brands folks think are great, esp. heavier users.. It's not always easy to be able to bake when you want one.

yea, I would stick with the cheesecake lady stuff, but it seems like mmc's are usually out. need to start a baking club for patients or something.

We take custom orders if you're looking for edibles that pack an extra punch, but we get great feedback on our regular line, too. If anyone wants to come in and sample one of our 100mg caramels, I'm at our Uptown location Tue-Sat, noon-7PM, and will give you a free sample. Just make sure to bring red card, ID and mention can com.

Patients and Friends,

Come on in to Pure. We've just opened our commercial kitchen inside the dispensary . $5 will get you just about anything on our menu. All of our infused ingredients are tested every batch with FSL for accurate dosing and THC %. We have some exciting NEW items in-store for our wonderful patients.

Hmmm CDS??? Not sure how your getting away with "give you a free sample". That falls into unfair business practices. SELLING BELOW COST IS A NO NO. :wtf: ?? In fact illegal per HB1284-HB1043. Jake. Shocking you'd post that on a public site?

Frank,

I'd talk to your lawyer. It sounds as if you've been misinformed about state law. We also have a compliance manual available if you have basic questions like this. Feel free to call the shop if you'd like to order one.

Jake you might want to talk to your lawyer.

I have multiple e-mails from Dan Hartman that make it quite clear that:

1) MMCs can not give away free edible samples to patients.

2) MIPS can not give away free samples to patients.

I reconfirmed these exact questions with him today, 8/2/11.

The Devil, as always, is in the details. Just like MMC's are prohibited from having physicians on-site, but not in say... an adjacent office and claiming they're "on-site".

FYI: Dan also says that MIPs can not give away samples to MMC owners. Ie. this probably isn't the best public discussion.

Jake,

Be sure and add that page to your "compliance manual". LOL. You may want to start by reading HB1284-HB1043 first, before you go and step out of the box. I would have thought your boss would have gone over some of these fundamental rules with you before you started preaching to the choir.

She did just spend 8 + glorious months "contributing" to what every one in this industry must abide by.

I think that Warren has made it clear, along with Dan Hartman.

NO MMC OR MIP CAN GIVE ANYTHING FREE AWAY. PERIOD!

I'm wondering how much more misinformation you folk's have been spreading???:wtf:

I'd be happy to go over anything you may still have questions about Jake. FREE OF CHARGE.

you know where to find find me.

if you are giving anything away to anyone who's ever spent a dime with you. you are not giving something away. any mmc that has a relationship with a patient - even a patient who is spending their first dime as a patient, is negotiating a merchant-consumer relationship that is fluid and not per-product based.

Go invest your energy in inserting more cannabinoids into your treats. They taste a hell of a lot better than the Buddha Bar, but they still don't work for shit.

CDS: we got the extra medicated one of the month (iced coffee I think?) the speedball (espresso), the peanut butter cups and Raspberry cheesecake. the thing with her stuff (when you can find a store that isn't out) is it ALWAYS works and the dosage is always very dependable. The only bummer is now that she's legal, if you see her at the show, you have to leave and go to an MMC to get the treats! LOL

I have a friend that raves about the cheeba chews, I'll have to give them a shot.

I'm a sucker for anything coffee flavored. And with the conventions/shows/etc that are coming up, it's going to be hard to match what happened at the High Times Medical Cup. Don't think we'll see an event like that for a while. At least not legally.

I haven't tried the deca-dose Cheebas yet, but the KindReviews write up on them was hilarious:

The heavy couchlock and lack of focus made this one a very unproductive experience, as we tended to just float around mentally, hardly processing anything and often just staring blankly. Despite the at-times zombie-like state, our mood was elevated and humor was easy to come by when weâ??d actually pay attention. Hours 2-5 passed like a blur for most of the staff, with hardly anyone moving or doing anything complicated, feeling pain-free and reasonably happy the whole time. The final few hours of the experience were even heavier, ultimately just making us feel tired and ready for sleep. There seemed to be some lingering effects out to almost 10 hours, but the majority of effects were gone by 8 hours after ingestion.

For what it's worth, I feel like the Ben's Bank Rolls are pretty comparable to the quad-dose Cheebas.

is this in 1284, or does the DOR get to just make up rules on minor details such as this?

The State prohibits sales of items below cost for a commercial advantage. This is rarely enforced but you see examples of it in the liqueur industry and in gas sales. The supermarket chains got in trouble a few years ago for selling gas below cost.

C.R.S. 12-43.3-402 attempts to fix this situation but in doing so only allows below cost sales only to people in hospice care and individuals that have been designated indigent by a state health agency.

MMED claims that they are going to address the "samples" issue, both in regard to MIP to MMC owner and MMC owner to patient, in the next round of rule making.

that about covers it. worry about your own ass. this isn't the place to call out the competition on regulatory details. look around on CL and the mags.

If you find yourself about to 'publically' call someone on some BS like this, just pick up the phone and deal with them instead of doing a narc post.
