Help a girl out??? First grow lighting and stealth???

Ok So i just got done introducing myself! I'm Kasey.
I'm starting my first grow tomorrow! Well im Germing the seeds.
Where to start...Well Iâ??m a pretty smart girl and I've read SOO much about growing
in the last couple weeks, just about finished NORML's Grow bible So interesting.

I still have a couple of questions though please help!
First off ill tell you of my set up. I'm Purchasing a grow tent tomorrow. I want to
grow two plants at a time. I'd like to grow to different ones to sample which kind is better. My seeds come tomorrow. Here's what im getting. ANY info on grow journals or reviews would be AWESOME!!!
3xFEM Afghan Ryder kush autoflower (WTF is autoflowering)
2xREG Dairy queen
2xREG (this is def spelled wrong) Cherylbom...4th of july special
1xFEM Dinafem Fruit
1xFEM dinafem Diesel

So i defiantly want the ryder kush in my first grow. Any idea if any of those other strains will be about the same height?

Im getting a grow tent probably 4x4x6ft, I have a HUGE squirrel Cage fan that kicks out 3450 rpm's can i use that or will it be extremely loud and over kill???

I plan to hook a homemade carbon filter up to that, for an exhaust and blow it into my basement. Now i have one really close neighbor about 40-55ft from the grow tent (about 15ft from the side of my house) Will a fan that size with a well constructed carbon filter be enough for complete stealth or should i get an ozone gen??
The site said Afghan Ryder Kush has a 22%thc rating so im thinking its going to STINK!
But ill only have two.

So thats my first question...Heres the second you ready??
LIGHTS! I don't really care about the initial setup cost considering ill never have to deal with shitty weed and stingy middle men. I however do care about my electric bill looking sketchy. So what lights would you get for flowering? I want killer bud's no reason to half ass this right?? I also want to make sure if a cop comes to my door he wonâ??t smell a thing.

My basement has ALOT of fluorescent lights most them just plug into the wall so i think ill use them for seeding and veg (any input on what kind of fluorescent bulbs?? i know about one cool one hot or w/e but what about watts?) Will i need more than two 4 ft fluorescent lights? I have 6 or 8 i can put in there. Once again remember i only have two plants at a time.

IF you're only doing two seeds at a time you have to figure one or both could become male. LED lights produce little to no heat and consume much less electricity, T5 flourescents don't produce much heat either which would mean less hassle with fans. To eliminate the odor get two Ionic Breeze ionoizers(or similar brands), they consume little energy and have no moving parts.

400 watt HPS is a good light for supplying one person....forever.
Fluorescents work well for the first 3-4 weeks of vegging.

Tents get hot easy...and you won't have much ceiling room in a tent.

Closets are better...IMO.

Are closets really better? If so i would love a good DIY tutorial thing if you know any.
I have plenty of closets one great one in piticular. I'm just afraid it won't be as air tight as a tent,
and i rent so I don't know about cutting holes for intake and outtake air.
However i could cut and exahust hole in the top of one closet to vent into the attic.
But i have no idea about intake and makeing air tight so odor isn't an issue.

renting puts a bad spin on everything

but, fluorescent tubes in a closet is a good way to start, T5's and T8's are best, 6500k

there's usually no smell the first 4 weeks of vegging...the smell comes in the flowering stage

Heat can be controlled indoors....minor prob.... LED's are too expensive IMO, yeah they don't get as hot but they don't penetrate like HID lamps do.... BTW, have you found a buyer for the LED's you had/have for sale??? Maybe IL here might be interested, I don't know....

IMO Iron Lung, cfl's for veg then blast them with an HPS for flower....400 600 or even 1k if heat can be controlled.... But that's just what I do....go big or go home, wait you probably are home....

I have too many plants so I'm moving two inside to start flowering and will use the LED's for that.

She didn't seem to be too worried about initial cost and over the long run LED's are probably cheaper when you factor replacement cost, electricity, convenience, dealing with the heat etc. the flourescent lights can be placed lower so light penetration isn't a real issue. 8 shop lights and a couple LED lights should be plenty for two plants. I had six plants and two negative ion generators in one room and there was virtually no smell.

FWIW I had a friend grow great bud in his closet with nothing more then a phototron which is nothing more then a glass box with four flourescent lights. We made our own out of a moving box covered in foil and 8 round 22W flourescents and grew some good bud in that as well. Heat was never an issue and these were grown in a small bedroom closet, the buds matured perfectly well under only flourescent lights so I'm not sure where people get the idea you can't finish under flourescents because I've seen it with my own two eyes. Sure there are better options now but this was 15 years ago and it worked.

My advice if budget is not a real issue is to get two 90-120W LED's and keep the 6-8 shop lights for additional side lighting a small fan, at least one ionic breeze and let her rip.

I went through all the question and answer thing a few months ago. I am sure you know what I mean. Hydro or soil, auto-flower or photo period, HID or LED etc etc.

After doing TONS of research and reading post after post until my eyes bled. I decided on a tent. I only wanted to do 2 plants at a time as well. I got a 20" x 36" x 65" tent, 8 cfl bulbs (4 6400K and 4 2700k) and a 90 watt tri color LED UFO. I chose soil because I felt if I made mistakes my girls could die in a couple of days but with hydro they could die in a couple of hours. Anyway I am now several weeks into vegging and I think she is looking awesome! I am going to purchase more 2700k cfl's for flowering and that will start in about 2 weeks, I can't wait too see her 1st budz!

BTW auto-flower strains go right from seedling into flowering, typically the whole grow is about 60-75 days and they can flower with little or no dark periods in some cases.
