so i think there may be rattlesnakes at my outdoor grow...? looked it up and cicada kind of sounds like a rattlesnake... anyways i haven't *seen* the "rattlesnake" but i might of seen these other little bugs. Either way.. any good diy rattlesnake repellent that are safe to use?

wut would be good... is to catch it... take a hockey stick... or long L shaped stick... and pin it down!!! from its head!!! then take a knife and cut his head off... then u will be fine!!!

washmedical
07-12-2011, 01:12 AM
nah im not into the senseless killing. Prob not the smartest to go rattlesnake hunting... plus a hockey stick is a little out of place being that the weather here is 90 degrees

Ha Ha ! Be careful I have a grower friend in Mendacino that says the rattlers like to hang out under his plants in the heat of the day. Thread lightly my friend . Waterdog

You could put up a sign "protected by watch rattlesnakes" JHC that sure as hell would keep me away.

Yup big feet!

Just stomp yer way in, the rattlers will split.

They can't hear but they do feel vibrations through the ground.
Little vibrations, they hunt.
Big ones, they run from.
Be da big ones. :)

anyone in the area uninvited will have to find out about the snakes on their own.. signs would just draw more attention as its a rural area.. and yeah i normally do stomp around cause theres cheat grass and vines and all kinds of vegetation near my grow

I was just kidding. Make sure you carry a long walking stick with you and stomp around with it, snakes are generally spooked easily and won't attack unless cornered.

awesome lizard! Maybe someday ill make it to the island... its a long swim though :P

and the rattlesnake turned out to be a bullsnake? im guessin just was makin rattling noises slitherin thru the dried grass.. was a nice 2-3 foot though

oh and the blueberry reveg is turning into a crazy canopy like 2 foot tall and 3 foot wide, burmese kush is a week into flower smellin like pinesol lol and my 2 gdps one is bushy as fuck and the other i topped is growing extremely slow

Excellent line-up

Ah!

Or a blacksnake, those tricky buggahs will rattle their tails in dry leaf litter when spooked.
So will a hog-nosed snake.
They are mostly harmless so they try to scare ya away with that trick.
Prolly a nervous tic on their part, but it makes them seem sentient.

Black racers and bullsnakes will then split, but the hog-nosed will coil-up and act all fierce.
If that no work, touch it anywhere and it will fake a painful death then play possum.

In my youth, I was an amateur herpetologist.

There are no snakes on the islands so we are up to our asses in rats while Riki-tiki-tavi goes hungry!
I kind of miss the snakes. :)

Aloha,
Us 'zards knows our reptiles.

Looking good! Don't worry about one of them flowering already we're experiencing this pehenomenon on the west coast, even some of the busts they are making in the national forest are reporting budding plants so yeah it's weird but not just for you! LOL

When you say re-veg plants, are these plants you had already grown full term then re-veged or were they plants that started budding when they were small?

washmedical
08-01-2011, 05:21 PM
The Blueberry re-veg was under a foot tall, and had been lst'd (the person i got them from said they had been budding for 2 weeks, but it looked more like 2weeks till it would of been finished) but anyways i ended up chopping the top cola drying curing and sampling it lol and being that i dont have a lamp it went outside and became the plant it is now. The buds that were on it shriveled into brown matter and eventually fell off the plant, and was replaced by tons of shoots. The last pic is the Blueberry and it prob has 30-40 tips

guessin the buku is a 8 week strain i should have 1 plant dryin the first week of sept

Purple Daddy

OK, was just curious, I re-vegged a plant I grew full term this spring. Seems to me it took a very long time to begin plush new growth but when it's done it will be about 50% larger then it was originally.

97 degrees out and my plants are drinking like alcoholics. Bring on the buds!

well tomorrow will be week 5 of bud for the BuKu, and its just starting to pack on the frostyness, its been getting hit by a sprinkler about once a week during the day, and so far i haven't seen any problems, but i am starting to get scared. Humidity has been around 30-35% with temps in the mid 90's with nighttimes mid 50's to 60's. lots of sun and high 80 degree weather for the next week

well i went to check on the girls at 6am this morning and snapped a mid size branch off the blueberry.. thinning her out a little.. felt like slapping myself. things are doing nicely and will update pics in a couple days. Walking back from the spot i saw a fox?! seemed totally out of place cuz i've never seen or even heard of them being in this area.

washmedical
08-22-2011, 04:34 AM

woa been a month. this site is about as stable as a 2 legged table. My blueberry re-veg had turned into a monster of a plant and some neighborhood kid decided he needed some leaf to smoke so im sad to report that it has been stolen. Hopefully the gdps have gone unnoticed

washmedical
09-02-2011, 06:29 PM
