Happy 4th everyone,
I have subbed enough times to feel confident but this last one had me sweatin literally.
Got the qf 3oz 5.7 ,heated to 100,added provided heat pad, proceeded to lab.94 degrees at arrival..no good...so i add another and recrotch...lab out to lunch so plenty of time to get temp up.Lab opens temp only 98 w/2 pads. I guess the extra 1 oz makes a bit of difference in holding temps...shoulda practiced since the 5.7 is bigger.
I go for it anyway,...waited 20 min after sign in, finally he hands me a cup approx 6-7oz size, and says FILL THIS UP AT LEAST HALF WAY....oh sh....t i thought , im in trouble.
So the qf starts making really loud glurping sounds as im pouring it into the cup..but i kept going as theres no turning back now even if he heard this.
So the 3oz qf was bearly enough to meet the min level he requested and i was scared to protest the 3oz requirment thinking they must be wise to the subbing and trying to make me call their bluff...no stink made i need this job ,bad.
So I give the sample to him and instead of the usual seal/split of sample and initial to be sent off...he set the cup on top of a towel on the counter and examined the cupand seemed to be testing it for ph/creatine gravity? i hope.
There was no paperwork given to me when he was done and there was no temp, between 90-100 yes/no anywhere on the paperwork i signed b4 testing.
Im thinking that because testing was done onsite ...there was no chain of custody carbon copy forms like usual.
So he just said ok you`re all done ,we`ll fax the results in 3 days.So i asked, Do u have any paperwork 4 me and he said no.
Sorry this was so long but this was a much different experience than ever before.
BEWARE 20Z VERSION...TRY QF PLUS OR MAGNUM 4OZ or you may come up short and have to protest their collection minimum amount for ua.
This lab was at a medical office affiliated with the hospital, where they used to do the ua.
Labcorp was no problem ever, they seem 2 only want 2oz min.
Any feed back on this post is much appreciated.
Say Hi to bubba k an grand daddy p, i hope to c em soon.
