Hey i am just starting and trying to learn how to grow a plant using hyrdoponics and was wondering if somthing like a Grobel Self Watering Pot would work if im goin on the cheap side?

If you are new to growing I'd suggest staying away from hydroponics at first especially if you're trying to save money. If you're committed then do it right, rockwool is a great growing medium for hydroponics.

That mini hydro setup will be outgrown quickly by this type of plant species.... Not sure how much water can fit in a 3.5" x 3.5" space but I'm sure it's not going to be enough for a plant that is in full bloom....

Instead of forking over cash for a headache, you should use those $25 on a bag of soil, couple pots and cheap nutes.... After all, you want to be cheap right....

Just remember, you reap what you sow.... Spend little, get little....

You can get a complete bucket system for about $30. Earth Juice Nutes are not too expensive.
You can start with a drops PH test kit but the best purchase I recently made was a digital PH meter.

I once used dirt from my yard. Nothing special, mostly a weatherd ardith shale with a lot of organics from years of gardens. It worked out pretty good pretty good.
