I just noticed he flashed his medical card to the News Crew with his home address on it and they didn't black it out.

It would be awesome if they were to allow him.... If not to smoke, at least make edibles available....

Heard something that made sense a bit ago, something along the lines of "If you consider yourself a thinker, and you're not laughing at our current policy towards marijuana, you are dumb!". Forgot the guys name but thought it would be worth mentioning...

Cannabis is his medicine. He has been approved by the State. He shouldn't be allowed to keep it on his person and smoke in front of other inmates, but he should be able to go to the infirmary and use it there. Perhaps he should have inquired about medibles and he might have been able to take those in with him. If he hadn't broken the law and been driving without a license in the first place, he wouldn't have to worry about not having access to his medicine for four days. Spokesperson for the county says "marijuana is contraband and is prohibited". When people get away from calling our medicine by any name other than cannabis, it might finally receive some credibility. I hate it being called "pot" and "weed". It is a flower. It is an herb. It is our medicine. Patients using cannabis for medicinal purposes must be allowed to have the same access to it as they would any pharmaceutical.

a very interesting issue..if they make him take his standard meds and he happens to seize..it's going to be a problem, letting him smoke in jail is another problem. The way I interpret the lawis that it has to be specifically excluded, as is ingestion on public transportation etc etc etc. A judge is going to look at this and decide based on the actual wording of the law.

My guess is that will have him ingest in the infirmary...if the judge blocks it, it's going to make for interesting reading how he's overturning a state law, since state run jails do not appear specifically excluded, now if it was a federally run facility, there would be no question whatsoever.

me smell a lawsuit of they refuse him...a bigger lawsuit if he dies and it's proven that he had a correct does of his prescribe pills in his blood stream.

I suspect the result will be the law will be amended to add state run incarceration facilities to the list places where ingestion is not permitted.

I am 100% disabled. Heart problems (incorrectable) , diabetic neuropathy, COPD, broken back....

Cops know nothing about medicine. Bean counters know nothing about disability. Neither should be empowered to make decisions that override or interfere with the decisions made by medical professionals - usually called DOCTORS.
