Recently I popped for a complete physical examination in order to renew my license. Then I'm told that I've got to send in $90 for a new license ... which will last another year. And oh, yeah, you've gotta send it by registered mail. Sorry, state bureaucrats, but I'm not gonna do it.

Imagine if John Q. Public was required to get a "license" every year in order to get his hands on Vicodin or any of the other opiates that are insanely addictive. The Capitol steps would be flooded with protesters.

Scoring the meds shouldn't be a problem. But I'll be damned if state bureaucrats are gonna trample our state constitution -- not with my cooperation.

In Michigan, the limit is 12 plants per patient and you can have up to 5 patients(including yourself). That's pretty good in comparison to some other states which only allow 6 I believe.

That looks good printed in ether on a tube. Trouble is, not everyone is in a position to grow, nor do they have the knowledge, experience or even the desire to devote lots of time to raising primo bud.

I'm fully willing to pay fair market price for product that suits my needs. My beef is with the state bureaucrats who throw a monkey wrench into the process. Hope this helps you understand where I'm coming from. Cheers.

Sorry to intrude -- I am a newbie to marijuana and this forum.

But reading the thread, it just dawned on me that it is tragic and absurd and utterly odd that one has to obtain a licence to grow and use a plant that has been created by God, long before men and their laws.

If the politicians have nothing better to do (such as fixing the economy after messing it up), they should go after the real criminals and the drunk drivers, rather than attempting to ban God's creation.

This whole thing against marijuana just strikes me as utterly bizarre.

The level of injustice is astounding.

But worry not. God is on our side, and we shall win this unjust war eventually.

Well. . . . in CA you get your req for $30-50.00 and then you have the option to "Register" with your local city or county. :wtf4:In Riverside it is appprox. $90 and a lot more in San Bernardino. But, hey, they give you a discount for being 'low income' or 'disabled' (should include Vets) or something like that. It only buys you one year and may keep you out of jail for a night or week-end, while they trace and prove you have a legit req. Oh, but my doc has 24/7 verification on request! The 'license' simply means you have already been checked to be legit and lets you out of 'custody' sooner. But, let it expire in a year-bet they come looking for you!

I opted out! I expect if I do a lot of illegal things, I would want to get one! As far as, a night in jail-or week-end! I like my odds, haven't been in a jail for 58 years, don't expect to go now! I think getting a license may want some 'control freak' cops to tend your neighborhood a bit more frequently, to make sure you are not growing more than the proper 6 adult and the few babies allowed!

PLEASE NOTE! An American Medical Convention of M.D.'s in CAlifornia took a stance last Friday 10/14/11 that they would like mj legalized. A twist I finally turned not that long ago. I was all for legal mmj. But, I turned to completely legalizing it. Why? Not for revenue to Gov't, but the oxymoron of our Gov't laws! Which seems to be the reason the CA M.D.'s felt the same. They said roughly. . . .'it is uncomfortable for a Dr. to write a req. for mmj when it is against the Nation's Law! Places Doc's in a' . . . Catch 22 (so to speak, in my terms)!!! pr
