View Full Version : Overcomplication

I'm so tired of people overcomplicating the issue of drugs. There are few things in the world that are simple, and though there are some complex aspects of drug use, but a few are just simple.
People always wonder why teenagers like to experiment with drugs more than any other age demographic. The reason is simple, IT IS FUN. Smoking pot, doing mushrooms and acid, altering ones consciousness is an enjoyable experience. Not always, of course there are times when one can have a bad experience, but so what?
Why do I smoke pot? Am I depressed? Am I looking to escape or enhance my reality? Am I searching for the meaning of life? Fuck no, I just want to sit in front of my TV with a bag of Doritos and giggle meaninglessly. A waste of time that could otherwise be spent constructively? Of course. North American Judeo-Christian society loves a cheap high. If you need proof of that, then take a look at the movie business (99% CRAP, I'm sure you'd agree), video games, junk food, porn, the music industry.
I am so sick and tired of high and mighty politicians looking down their nose at those choose to waste their lives "getting high". I'm so fucking tired of this talk of "amotivational syndrome". What the fuck is that? Why give a big scientific name, its called being a lazy fuck. What does pot have to do with being a lazy fuck?
Everyone has their addictive habits, and as far as pot smoking goes, if I had to be addicted to something, pot wouldn't be that bad. Its better than most compulsions out there. Everyone likes to get high. Nymphomaniacs have their random fucks, gambling addicts have Las Vegas, and straight edgers run around telling us what to do and screaming stupid slogans. Marijuana may not be healthy (and really, in this world of botox and a rapidly thinning atmosphere, what is?) but at least the only person I'm hurting is me.
I sincerely doubt anyone read that, but its nice nevertheless to get if off my chest.

I read it. :) And I think the thrill people get when reading about what Angelina Jolie said about Brad Pitt is far more dangerous than pot. Maybe one day they'll find a correlation between the amount of celebrity news one reads and alzheimers disease.

Or a correlation between being straight edge and paralyzation of the vocal chords.
I read it;
"it's called being a lazy fuck."
Dead on.

I agree. I wish everyone would stop trying to figure out why I smoke and just spend time making it legal for me to do so. Your right everyone is addicted to something. My brother is a "straight edger" in the sense that he doesn't do any drugs and never has. He doesn't get on me about it, then again I'm his big sister so he knows better. Anyway, he is addicted to a healthly lifestyle. He hasn't had a pop/soda in 7 years. He works out 2 hours a day, and eats only healthy food. ENOUGH TO MAKE ME SICK! So see even his straight edge ass is addicted to something. I still love him though b/c he doesn't try and tell me how to live my life, nor do I tell him what he should be doing. My sister, she loves to play bingo and has spent a fortune on it. She too is addicted to something. I could go on and on, but I won't bore you all with my family habits. Point is, I agree with you Sedric. Let me smoke and leave me alone to do what I wish for what ever reason I wish.

Well said, Stedric!
Whenever people babble on to me about how bad drugs are, I try and counter their arguements with well though-out responses, facts, figures, etc... but now i'm just going to say 'But they're fun' :)

well thought out stedric...so true. I was thinking about all this the other day and how when i get high, everything is enhanced, and if im out in nature, it totally magnifies the beauty of the world and the sounds of the Earth(not to be cheesy). Long story short, while i was having a conversation with myself, the straight-edge me struggled free and said "how come you cant enjoy the beauty of the world/nature without smoking pot?"...to which i answered, "I CAN enjoy the outdoors, and all other aspects of life without being high, but allow me to present an example, Straight-Edge Me: People buy fancy cars and additional equipment to go with the vehicle in order to make the driving experience more fun, more pleasurable. Rather than watch a basic tv, those with the available cash buy a plasma screen tv, surround sound speakers, etc. all to enhance their audio/visual experience. Mankind, and i suppose many other animals, seek joy and a way in which to obtain the most from that element of joy." Straight-Edge Me nodded, because he understood completely.
People who smoke pot are no different from those who obtain fulfillment and joy by other means, we just get a bad rap because of society's illusions regarding the drug, their lack of understanding and communication. Sorry i didnt mean for it to be that long. You probably stopped reading at the second sentence and skimmed to the end, finding yourself reading this useless, closing sentence.

This is a thread I think we can all agree with.
As for me, I dont get high because I have to, I get high because I want to

No I read it, and your right. There's a little stoner grove in the small forested area down the road, I really want to smoke up there in a lawn chair one day and just chill with nature. Maybe some mushrooms too :) :D :p.
