nutrients and bud taste?

I was wondering different nutrients produced different tastes? or is that mainly strain dependent? Do certain fertilizers give herb the "red bud" taste? or is that just because of an early harvest?

I would think that different ferts would produce different end results.... Not sure about the red taste your talking about but if you harvest too soon and don't properly flush, the nutes will make your buds taste harsh. The nutes boost the plants natural resin production, and when properly flushed, taste whatever the plants genetic makeup allows it to taste like....

some herb like lavender has the flowery taste, afghans taste mellow/hashy, diesel has its own flavour etc. Do certain fertilizers have distinct flavor?
