Hi All,

New poster with hopefully basic query:

Just started a new grow, first for a few years and am finding an issue with HEAT. I'm growing in a secret Jardin 120 grow tent in the back bedroom. I'm finding it very difficult to keep the temperature down during "Lights ON" period.

What's best?

More lights (6 x 2700k envirolites in 3 x reflectors) = 30C/86F on - 19C/66F off

Less lights (4 x 2700k envirolites in 2 x reflectors) = 27C/81F on - 19C/66F off

I'm growing a sativa/indica cross (Called LSD). I used 4 lights x 18 hours for veg (from clones) but then switched to 6 x lights x 12 hours for Flowering.

I have 2 x 5" fans - 1 Inlet from open window with piping pointing down towards the reflectors - 1 exhausting from top of the tent (heat rises right) into a charcoal/carbon filter. My "lights on" time is during night (cheaper electric and cooler temps) but I still get nights with higher external temp (It's summer here - but is UK - so never gets ridic). Also, using 3 x reflectors pretty much covers entire tent so am concerned that intake air may not be reaching the girls below. Maybe fresh air is just circulating ABOVE the reflectors. Can't really place intake pipe BELOW the reflectors as that would be too strong an airflow directly on girls?

I have tried placing buckets of water all over the room to try and disipate some of the heat.

So question is:

More lumens at higher temp

or Less lumens and lower temp

I have a portable air-con unit - but don't really want to use it as it's loud, produces hot exhaust (which must be vented). Also, I figure it may make things TOO cold?

What you folks think? Surely most US states have way higher night time temps than uk?

Many thanks,

Oucheeeeee

Find a way to get your intake to come in at the very bottom of the tent, like closest to the floor. This way the fresh air will make it through the whole tent instead of just the upper portion, giving your plants more fresh air....

Thx Cangroit,

Managed to get another 5m of 5" ducting and now intake is below the lights - Highest temp now 22c.

What a simple fix. However, see new post for latest issue ;-)

Cheers,
