View Full Version : just a couple of dumb "newbie" questions re: vaping and vaporizers

Hey Folks, nice place ya got here. When I say "newbie" I don't mean to cannabis as I have been partaking off and on for over 40 years, AND have lived to tell about it, so far anyway. I mean let's face it. How many of you can honestly say they HAVE had the occasion to flop their lips around some genuine Panama Red? Now THAT was some good weed!

Anyway, like some of my peers I figure it's time to start taking my health more seriously. I am now using the herb for mostly medicinal purposes now that I have had a couple of back surgeries and complications thereof. I want to start using a vaporizer. I realize the benefits especially since my old lady started using an e-giggie - what a great invention!

What I would like to know is what's the best portable vape to get, and also what's your favorite in-home model?

And last but not least, does vaping your stash produce the tell-tale reek that smoking it does? Logic tells me no, but I would like to hear it from you!

Thanks everyone, Peace, Out...

I have an Iolite portable vape and I really like it. I too have had multiple back surgeries which left me with two bars of titanium, one in my neck and one in my back. So I totally understand back pain.
I find that vaping, even if it is a Sativa, I will get a better body buzz with the vape. I use my vape at home and out.
I find the smell it produces is totally different from smoking. Unless someone knows what they are smelling because they vape or having been around someone who has, I doubt that they would think it to be pot, imho. Now if you smoke the vaped weed, it will reek like burnt popcorn. Plus, when choosing strains to vape, consider the taste the vape will get out of it. Just because something tastes yummy while smoking may not taste as good in the vape. (I started a thread under the "Vaporizing" forum about people's favorite strains to vape by taste. If you want you could check it out for some good tasty strains.)
If you are looking for ways to medicate without smoking, perhaps also try edibles. When I have a good edible I am almost in no pain for hours, which doesn't happen hardly ever without (including using pain medicine other than mmj). Just remember to give it at least 2 hours to kick in, and that is on an empty stomach. I find the best selection of strong and yummy edibles at GGAC. I love the "Enjoyable Edibles" brand because they are a more Indica heavy medicated edibles, and I find I prefer that to a Sativa heavy edible.

I wish you luck on your journey!
