I just got done taking a urine test for a pre-employment drug screening. I hadn't smoked in two weeks, but wanted to be sure that I wouldn't fail. I ordered Quick Fix, Batch F2D-11, from 513 Ventures (I had bought it in the past, but never had to use it) and followed the directions to a T. I went in, "peed," and came back out. On the laboratory form, the collector marked off that the specimen was indeed between the temperature of 90-100 and had no negative notes regarding my test. We even had time to bullshit while I was filling out the rest of my paperwork. I felt great, drove home, and started to type this thread when I noticed something at the bottom.

Under the steps to be completed by a medical review officer, there are several checkboxes. They are negative, positive, test cancelled, dilute, and gulp...Refusal to test because of A) Adulterated and/or B) Substituted.

Great. I haven't ate in days and with my brain and heart racing even more, I'm feeling like absolute crap. I called the 800 number and the representative told me that they keep their product up-to-date and that this is just standard drug testing. Needless to say, this didn't make me feel any better. Do places normally test for substitution? I really could use some good news and some food in my tummy.

The sample is being sent to Atlanta. I have typed in their address, but no website is coming up regarding a medical center or anything. The person who hired me said they'd hear back within 24-48 hours. I start tomorrow at 1 p.m., and if there is anything wrong with my sample, I lose my job immediately.

If there is any additional info needed, I will be able to respond with necessary information. If this wasn't suppose to be in a new thread, I apologize. I'm just freaking out and wondering if my year plus of unemployment will be even longer.

I will keep updating until I hear the absolute results of my testing. Many thanks in advance.

I'm going to try and relax until I hear back from some of you forum regulars. Key word - try.

From the DHHS regulations:

Substituted Specimens

The HHS criteria for identifying substituted specimens are based on the physiological ranges for creatinine concentration and specific gravity value of normal human urine.

A laboratory will report a urine specimen as substituted when both the initial and confirmatory tests (i.e., tests on separate aliquots) document that:

- The creatinine concentration is less than 2 mg/dL, and
- The specific gravity is less than or equal to 1.0010 or greater than or equal to 1.0200

As long as the batch is unexpired (which in this case it is) and had been stored properly (ie; no exposure to direct sunlight), you have nothing to worry about.

Thank you, Burnt Toast. You made me relax a lot more.

I had been meaning to reply but took a quick nap. I'll be posting on here in a few days telling everyone how great my job is and that I indeed passed!

Sorry I did not respond. My roommate "dropped" some Taco Bell into my power supply, which then fucked my video card up...so no access. After spending my first paycheck on upgrades and replacements, I am back!

I JUST received notice today that my test and background check were a-ok. Use Quick Fix! Follow its instructions, don't worry, and enjoy your new job. This is the best job I've ever had in my life! I give it 5 boners out of 4!!!! Quick Fix is THAT good!

Thank you to Burnt Toast for further clarification and putting my mind at ease. I'm having this bowl for you! And if you're ever in the state shaped like a mitten, I owe you one :)

Thank you. I can't remember the last time I was with the birds this gracefully. Currently reading Carl Sagan's work is bringing me back to a simpler time ;)
