So after two successful grows I have decided to post my first grow log. I put the seeds in a cup of water last night and will be putting them in solo cups with ffof tonight. I have a 432 watt t5 light that provides 40000 lumens. I will be growing in my closet in a space that is 8 square feet and plan on having two plants. My seeds came from hempdepot and are DNA's cataract kush fem. If someone could please explain to me how I post pictures on here as I have not figured that out yet. Thank you guys in advance for any help or ideas.

I'd love to see what you can do for your third grow Treez. I'm always hanging around in the growlogs, its my favourite section and between it and Plant Problems its the best place to learn. The board has been quiet since all the crashes and alot of members have drifted off.
People are watching and reading though so thats a good thing eh?! Hope you keep it up :)

Hey brohamus
You Let those seeds split and then popped them under FFOF soil without anything else ? !
Please tell me that's what you did as that's exactly what one of MY newborns is doing right now ;) - scept it's not showing me shit ( I put it under about 1/4" of FFOF )

I'm not sure if I understand what u r asking but I soaked my seeds in water for about 18 hours then I planted them on ffof with the root tip down. Put a ziplock bag over the cup and placed them under my light. I removed the ziplock once they sprouted at first I had the light a couple of feet away but when the second set of real leaves dropped I moved the light to within six inches.

Well I did decide to go ahead and put them In their new homes. The cups were drying out In under 24 hours so it was time.275806275807

Bigger containers do help so i am told :D looking good btw
Treez81
05-26-2011, 01:53 AM
Yea. These containers r 7"x7"x9" deep. I'm hoping to keep them here during veg and not transplant again until before flower. We shall see.

Hope they last a while and watch for roots coming through the holes so they don't get root bound

So I figured since I have not said much about my grow I would take the time to do it now...
Like I mentioned before I have an eight bulb, four foot t5 setup in and eight square foot space. I'm growing three feminized cataract kush plants from seed. As u know I use ffof and also the fox farm liquid trio. I started them in solo cups and have now transplanted them to their veg containers. The containers I have for flower r 12"x12"x12" I am running six 5600k bulbs and two 2700k bulbs. For flower I reverse that. BTW the grow is done in a closet. I cut a passive vent for intake. I had a small exhaust fan my last grows but have found heat to be a small problem. My last batch came out airy. Anyways I bought a six inch 400cfm fan with a carbon filter for this one and will be installing it in a few days. I also use two fans to move air around.
So now that I have filled u In I would like advise on pruning and whether I should get the fox farm soluble ferts as well. Ty to all that reply
Mrbig1
05-26-2011, 02:32 AM
So how much do you want this grow to net ya?
Also i think pruning is only a problem if it is blocking light to other leaves or is making the plant droop
if your good with measuring your ferts then go for it just watch out for over feeding with liquid ferts

I never set a limit on the yield. What I get is what I get. I will try my best to provide a great environment and let them do the rest. Last grow I got four ounces on two plants. BTW I also have it on an 18/6 light schedule.

Lol. So I was looking in the magazine for new bulbs and realized they r 3000k and 6500k. Oops been a while since I bought them.

Yeah, so am I but I also don't think I am special enough for LEO to spend time going after me..... After all, I am compliant with state laws and I'm not a big enough fish for the feds, plus I don't grow for profit so, ehh......
Your plants are looking good. Hopefully we get to see your end product.....

Not sure if u can see from the pics but I numbered them. I will define that more in further pics. Anyways...CK2 smells like OG no doubt. CK3 smells different. Maybe LA? Although CK1 has had more vigorous growth, it really just smells green. Either way, with the fan off, these three little plants stink it up.

So I had to transplant them again. I was having to water every day in the other containers. These r 12 inch by 12 inch tall.

Still doing good. Took a little bit to recover from being topped then transplanted but they r really kicking in gear now. CK1 is the strongest grower. The other two seem to be coming along about the same.

LOL good luck with the peppers :) Is it in with the girls?? They're looking great too btw. Nice chunky leaves and the picture of health.
nice thread!
Are you going to top just once or do you top often in veg?
How long have you kept your plants in veg in one of those 7x7? Just wondering if you think it effects growth rate or not? I've always veg in bigger pots and want to see it from your point of view. Do you do something different to the soil like add more wormcastings or anything like that?
if possible would you veg in a large container?
Your plants are looking very nice. I can't wait to see them later in flower.

Lol. They only stayed in the seven inch pots about a week. I was having to water too much after that. They r now in twelve inch pots. I have not decided if I want to chop on them anymore or not. I was thinking of just trimming off some lower growth. To be honest I do not have much experience with trimming. I let my last plants just grow without trimming to see what it would do and thought is just top these once and remove lower growth and see how that goes. I'm using a t5 so lower growth has turned out subpar. As far as the soil goes I just use ffof just like it comes. I will cut the bottom off these pots and place them inside another pot the same size filled about 3/4 full before I put them on 12/12 I use the fox farm nutes and pretty much follow their chart. One thing is for sure. When I turn off the fan these girls stink like crazy. Lol.
I was forced to throw them out and give away my equipment. Sorry I will not be finishing this log. I quit
Sorry to hear glad you'r safe .
Thank's for sharing .

Haven't posted in a while. Gonna throw them to flower in a couple of weeks. I just thinned them out a couple of days ago so Im gonna give them time to recover. They have just started to alternate nodes. So far only ck1 has proven to be female. It has been the strongest most vigorous plant by far. The small plants in the last pic r my peppers.

Aha looking very nice , short stout indica . You can flower now if you want , i'd not take any more off them as you have plenty room by the look of it .
I'd go thinning out lower branches that won't reach the canopy and flip to flower , i'm crowded tho and light dosent get through my canopy .

Yea I am a little paranoid. I will take full plant pics in the morning and post them. I'm really ready to see how these turn out. Seem to be the strongest I have grown so far. It's like I cannot feed them too much. They love it. Also seem to be budding faster than any others I have done.

Don't ask me how i managed to make them all sideways. sorry
So my buddy treez got banned for arguing with the mods on here and he wanted me to come tell everyone that his harvest was successful. The buds were super dense and the taste was good. Definitely not a strain for the begginner smoker. Very powerful stuff. Great for nighty night time. He says he reccommends growing it as it was easy to grow and very strong. Not a huge yeilder, but makes up for it in strength. Hopefully he will be allowed on here again sometime.
