A friend of mine just recently began the work to put together his own MMJ consultation business. Basically you go to him for all your "how-to" growing needs from room design down to learning how to actually grow the mj. he's also working on providing "grow-op" sitting for those who need to go away from home for any period of time or for elderly patients who want to grow their own but can't due to being limited physically, etc.

Even 24hr emergency grow assistance (for those with sudden problems like spidermites or whatever)

I personally didnt think it was that great of an idea considering how many forums and websites there are out there who basically walk you through majority of the issues you could come across.

He and i have grown together in the past. he really knows his stuff...and apparently he thinks i know my stuff...he asked me to work with him permanently since it would be hard to go at it all on his own. This has got me thinking...IS THERE a demand for this type of business? Im now interested since i wanna quit my dayjob but dont wanna take the plunge with him unless theres a reasonable chance for decent success.

anyone? anyone?

Good idea but like you said, where is the demand especially if forums like this are filled with people who can walk others through the same process. And most growers want to be discreet about their grow..... I personally would not ask someone to come to my home to help me with a setup. Nor would I pay someone for their time when I can logon to a site like this.... Your friend would be better off starting a dispensary or collective delivery service.... Or grow your own and give your excess to a club and receive compensation in return....since you know your stuff, shouldn't be too hard.... I just don't see people paying for something they can get for free......

This seems to be an idea in its infancy, but some people are having some success. The thing is that you have to be an expert and prove yourself just like any other company or people won't use your service for long. Become an expert and be able to prove it by helping others, and the word might go around. Problem is you could get into some trouble for helping others. It's a risk you have to take. There could come a time where you say to yourself, hey, this was a brilliant idea and things are great, or hey, I'm sitting on a concrete bunk because it was a terrible idea. Regarding the use of websites, not all the info is good. I've seen senior members here be wrong about things repeatedly yet for some reason they continue to draw respect. I don't get it. In the end there are better ways to learn how to grow than read these forums. This is probably the worst place to learn how to solve problems as anyone with a computer can get in here and say what they think. It's a great place for personalities that need admiration and respect. The weird thing is that only those who don't learn continue to provide that respect. When the solution doesn't solve the problem you've got to wonder about the source. Reading on your own is the best way to learn, then listening to someone face-to-face that you can trust, then maybe, just maybe you turn to a site like this. As far as helping others being a business, it's an up-an-coming kind of industry but everyone could also land in jail. Keep your day job and help on the side if you want, but only doing what's legal will keep you out of jail.
